Frank Beamer is hyped up about the future of VT football
Despite winning just 15 games the last two seasons, having to replace Logan Thomas, improving a running game that ranked in the bottom of the ACC, coach Frank Beamer is hyped up about the future of the team. Entering his 28th season as the head coach of Virginia Tech, Beamer has certainly earned the benefit of the doubt. His excitement is reason enough to bring optimism to a football team trying to get back to elite level.

You can start voting on the "All-Lane Team". To be eligible, the player must satisfy one of these:
Is it a qb yet?
Morning Fellow Hokies, do we have a starting qb yet? :)
VT not ranked in first AP Poll
Three ACC teams are ranked in the first AP poll but the Virginia Tech Hokies is not one of them. The Hokies did receive 26 votes but not enough to make the top 25.

LT3 NO PLAY?
Does anyone know why LT3 didn't play yesterday? He got a lot of reps in there debut but he didn't throw a single pass. I wasn't able to watch the game so i don't know if he may have gotten injured or something?

Ryan Williams doing work for Dallas
RMFW got picked up by the Cowboys this season, and while I haven't seen him much (don't follow the Cowboys or the NFL enough to be aware of that stuff), he just had a couple nice runs against the Ravens. First, he trucks a defender 15 yards downfield and then makes a nice cut on the next play to get himself into the end zone. Really hope he can stick in the Cowboys' backfield.

Post Scrimmage Interview with Frank
I know there will be more coming from TKP staff soon , but just wanted to share the short post scrimmage interview between Bill Roth and Coach Beamer.
- Typical "Frank-isms" of liking the team and playing tough
- Running backs popped a few big ones
- Decision on QB coming very soon
David Wilson the track star? TKP debate
David Wilson might be retired from the NFL due to recurring neck injuries, the former hokies and Giants running back still wants to compete on track .

Does David Wilson have any shot of achieving success as a professional track star?
Scrimmage Questions?
So the first scrimmage is here today, and I'll be going to interviews after it's over. We're going to get to talk to Frank, Bud and Loeffler, Brewer, Leal and whoever does well in the scrimmage.
We're going to get "abbreviated stats", so don't expect anything in that department. I'm HOPING we see how many carries each running back gets, but I'm not optimistic.
So I'm going to open it up to anyone, what questions do you care about most? Is there anything you want me to ask a coach or a player? I'll be reading this thread and try to get as many of your questions answered that I can.
Logan Thomas: Look Out Below!!
In the spirit of the recent LT3 topics. This article by Matt Waldman just recently came out.
It's a French style analysis on his chance at being a successful QB in the NFL that is quite well done IMO, and Waldman seems to look at Logan quite objectively.
Hope you enjoy
Is Chase Williams ready to lead the defense?
After spending five years in Virginia Techs defense as a back-up and on special team, Chase Williams seems to be finally ready to be a starter and a leader in Bud Fosters defense. With advice from his dad, St Louis Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, Chase is confident he can be the leader the team needs.

Ticket Exchanges?
With the season coming up, do the forum gods want ticket posts in this forum or off topic?

NFL plan to toughen up domestic abuse policy
NFL Policy Looks like with the recent outcry over Ray Rice's suspension has got the NFL thinking twice. With the suspension comparisons between failing a drug test and beating your wife coming out the NFL has decided to revamp their policy.
Right now as a 1st time offender Ray Rice has to attend a program and will avoid trial as long as he completes this. Goddell said the NFL doesn't have a big policy on domestic abuse and how to handle it but after this issue they're trying to expedite the process.
