UNCW Womens BBall FAM
The Megan Duffy era is off to a 1-0 start.
The game was exciting all the way through.
The team played with tons of energy and heart.
Everyone who touched the ball was a scoring threat.
Defense was flying around and generated lots of transition points.
10 Players got on the court well before the final minutes AND ALL SCORED.
Role players from last year got to take more ownership.
Entire bench was up celebrating a layup with less than 2 minutes left with a 41 point lead.
There was joy on the players faces.
Scored 99 points to win by 42.

WBB vs UNC Wilmington Nov 4
The Ladies host UNC Wilmington today at 5 PM. This is an ACC Network Extra game. I know nothing about either team. Maybe the Lieutenant can chime in with some expertise.
Below is the Hokies roster for this year. We are going to be a young team. We have two seniors who transferred in last year and a junior who is transferring in this year. The rest of the team is freshmen and sophomores. All of our tall girls are true freshmen.

WBB Started off Season Rocking
Well, they didn't get a thread started before this so I figured I would start one. The Women's Basketball Team started off their season with an exhibition match on October 22 against the Saints of Limestone. There wasn't a prayer left in the house for Limestone by the end of the night.

2024-25 Hokie Hoops Statistical Notes: Volume 1
The Men's Team
The fifth year of CMYBall didn't go according to expectation, though if you had told me anytime between our entry into the ACC and well, now, that we'd go 10-10 in conference, I'd consider it a success. Through five years, Mike Young's squad has accrued more in-conference wins than any VT men's basketball coach not named Seth Greenberg, Charles Moir, or Chuck Noe, and his .484 in conference winning percentage trails only to Buzz Williams' .489, Charles Moir's .564, and Chuck Noe's .743. Call me crazy, but I do think the 1950s SoCon was not the modern ACC in terms of difficulty.

2024-25 Women's Basketball Non-Conference Slate Announced
The first year of CMDBall will begin with a 5pm tipoff against UNC-Wilmington on Monday November 4
The following Saturday, the Hokies head on down to Charlotte to take on Iowa at 5:30pm on ESPN2
Wednesday the 13th, the Hokies return to Cassell to face UNC-Asheville at 6pm, followed by a Saturday November 16 game against Coppin State at 2pm.
The Hokies will welcome Rutgers to Cassell, November 19 at 6pm, then will see Elon on Saturday the 23rd at 2pm.
Moseying on down to Fort Myers, the Hokies will face Davidson on the 29th at 4:30, followed by either Michigan or Belmont on the 30th.

Men's Basketball Adds Transfer Conner Serven from Eastern Michigan
Noticed this when I was on Hokiesports.com rather than working on a Friday......

6' 8", 200 lbs, Forward
Played at Illinois for 3 seasons and last season at Eastern Michigan, where he averaged 3.3 points & 3.1 rebounds in 31 games. Seems like a very late addition, but I guess if there is a roster spot and he adds depth to the bench it does not hurt to have him. I will never say no to more height at the forward position.

2024 Hokies Women's Basketball Offseason Recruiting
Not much to say right now, but for those who like to keep track, on3 has now started keeping track of some women's basketball offers and commitments. It's not the best, but it's good to see the sport get elevated to a national recruiting site.
