The Hokies are coming off a loss to Clemson at home and now go on the road to Tallahassee needing an upset win to avoid being in the bottom FOUR in ACC play.
The Ladies travel to North Carolina to play the NC State Wolfpack today at 6 PM. The game will be on the ACC Network. NC State are 9.5 point favorites with the over/under at 140.5; the Matchup Predictor gives the Hokies 17.4% chance to win.
NC State is 15-4, 7-1 in conference. Their four losses are to #2 South Carolina, #9 TCU, #5 LSU and #22 California. One of their wins was against Ole Miss, who are the fourth team listed under receiving votes. They are on a four-game winning streak and have won 11 of their last 12. The Ladies travel to the frozen north to play Pitt today at 6 PM. The game will be on ACCN extra. Pitt is 9-11, 1-6 in the ACC; the Hokies are 13-5, 4-3. PItt has lost to a bunch of top 20 teams and some not so great teams. Their one ACC win was at home against SMU. They have lost 5 of their last 6; but they have played decent teams over that span, losing to 4 ranked teams and Louisville. The Hokies beat Louisville 70-65 in their last game. Against other common opponents: Pitt lost to Miami 62-56; we beat them 68-64. Pitt lost to Ga Tech 100-61; we beat them 105-94 in double overtime. Duke beat Pitt 61-39; we lost to Duke 81-59.
