Hey Joe, have you ever considered going with a third party print on demand company? You upload the graphic you design, specify what stock you want it printed on, then people can order it and the manufacturer drop ships it to the customer. You specify what your commission is off each sale, and then the manufacturer takes care of the rest. There are some good companies out there and you won't have to ever handle stock unless you want to order your own supply at cost that you could resale at events like tailgates.

No, Lefty is not pulling down KR-level recruits yet, but with those examples you're ignoring the QB famine we experienced post-Tyrod. All indications are we're rebuilding toward the level of recruit Rogers brought in and undoing the damage of the O'Cainspring years.
I do not want to know what that kind of training entails.
It will be in a couple hours.

# | Bitter blog - Re-stocked QB pool could lead to interesting competition down the line MV7 wasn't an elite QB recruit. I think he was 3 star. Nobody knew what they were getting with him.
We've landed two 5 star QB recruits that I'm aware of: MV5 and TT. MV5 was recruited by Kevin Rogers, who was himself considered an elite QB coach who was expected to revolutionize VT's offense before he (understandably) bolted for the NFL with his buddy Brad Childress.
TT was recruited by Curt Newsome, a big reason Newsome was brought into the program in the first place.
So an OC recruiting 5 star talent at QB would be something new for us, regardless of zip code.

Why would out of state matter? Regardless, given his progress over two seasons, I'd feel very safe wagering that Lefty would bring in a 5 star QB (whether in-state or out of state, who cares?) Within five years, assuming he's here that long

I think he is really selling his scheme and vision for the position to recruits. The model is not new, but he's installed it successfully at VT in less than two years.
I also have no qualms about you saying he's revolutionizing how we recruit QBs. You're right. It's just sad that you're right. (No offense.)

# | Bitter blog - Re-stocked QB pool could lead to interesting competition down the line I get hung up on the fact that you are using the word revolutionize, and that in terms if Virginia Tech over the last decade plus, you are right. But there's honestly nothing revolutionary about what Lefty is doing. He's doing it the way it's supposed to be done: a QB coach/OC selling his position coaching and offensive scheme to his targeted recruits. It's the way it worked under Rickey Bustle, though admittedly the caliber of our program wasn't high enough for Bustle to attract better talent until after the 95 Sugar Bowl. But the fact that you say Lefty is revolutionizing how we recruit QBs, and the fact that you're right, is an indictment of how much of a mess QB recruiting had become under Lefty's predecessor.
I get where you're coming from, and obviously we aren't going to win the Coastal every year. Not winning it doesn't mean the season was a disaster, or that I or anyone else should be miserable about it. We just didn't meet our primary goal.
I would have loved ten wins and missing the ACCCG on a tiebreaker this season, as I think most would have. I do think you're right that ten wins would have quieted the mob re: Lefty. But there were plenty of calls for Stiney's job when we were winning ten a year like clockwork. I was probably sounding that trumpet the loudest, and I stand behind everything I wrote because I think Stiney's offenses weren't pulling their weight. Obviously Lefty's aren't yet either, but the Ohio State, ECU, BC, LOLUVA and Cincy games showed me what Lefty's building can contribute to program success instead of being propped up by the defense.
Actually wouldn't Wiles keep coaching the DL as DC and the hire would be inside linebackers coach (Bud's current responsibility)?
As for all the rest, it's doable. The loyalty level of the coaches is kind of off the charts. You don't see this in college ball these days.

Tyrod was Newsome's one shining moment and Bucky was tabbed as a plug and play replacement for the Third and Logan offense.
I think the point is, our QB recruiting was disjointed and a bit of a mess, and it caught up to us. Now we have the QB coach recruiting hand picked targets who he then designs the offense around as OC. It's a better system and has in two years reversed the cluster we had found ourselves in.

Edit: Also, since Torrian and Morehead's letters of appointment only run through June, does that mean they can renegotiate for a raise?

Doesn't hurt that we finally have an OL coach that can actually recruit O linemen. I swear, Newsome bombed on every conceivable level after he landed Tyrod. It was like he used up all value to the program in that one recruiting cycle.
