We officially picked the best possible time for a bye week.

Do you think JC Coleman would have produced in this offense?
I'm not sure what seems contradictory about it, but let me try to elaborate.
From what I have seen, our problem isn't tackling technique (i.e., arm tackling) so much as it is defenders taking themselves out of the play by having bad position or losing contain on their assignment. Overeagerness is leading to us shooting ourselves in the foot.
Unrealistic expectations and excessive hand-wringing means there's buy-in amongst the fanbase. Like it or not, a program doesn't become elite without some batshit crazy fans spewing Finebaum-level insanity. Clemson boards were in meltdown against BC and again this week against Wake. Bama could drop a hundred on someone and Bama fans would be livid it wasn't too hundred. So in a way, I'm glad to see that level of hubris returning to our program...as long as it stays on the other boards.
In a row?
Don't you be talking smack about avocado toast.
That shit is delicious.
To my untrained eye, the problem is taking bad angles and overpursuing. When we're in position to tackle, we usually make the tackle.
The Techmo Bowl could be interesting this season.
And if Kumah continues to develop based on his performance at BC, we won't be a one trick pony in the receiving corps next season.
High or low ankle sprain? Either way, might not be healed in two weeks.
Felt like a vintage Frank Beamer win. I thought we might be in a world of hurt when Cam went down, but some young receivers really stepped up tonight.
The bye week couldn't come at a better time.

This is good, but nothing will ever compare to the gif of Fuente screaming "What the fuck is this shit?!?" to the refs from last year's Belk Bowl.
This is the popular answer. However, I maintain we were closer to getting back to the BCS championship game in 2000. We we're 8-0 and ranked #2 heading into our matchup with Miami. But Vick was trying to come back from a bad ankle injury, wearing a modified boot in the game that hobbled his mobility, and we lost the game badly, 41-21. With a fully healthy Michael Vick, I think we win that game and get back to the BCS championship game.
I've always thought our dismantling at the hands of LSU in 2007 would have been too big a blemish to overcome. Had we beaten BC, we might have still been left out due to some late season human poll shenanigans. Losing to BC just made it easy on the pollsters.
This is some Fofth Fuller Foe'rensics level shit right here.
As for why there is still optimism amongst the fans, it's simple. The high profile loses in Frank's last decade indicated and plateau and decline in the program. We're just getting started under Fuente. Nobody panicked when we lost badly to Nebraska in the 96 Orange Bowl after beating Texas in 95, because we were a program in ascendancy. The feeling that we're headed in the right direction soothes the sting of losing.
The way Cutcliffe coached that game was irritating as hell. Timidity from start to finish.
Fuck it. Leaving it.
The way I look at it, Alabama was voted ahead of Clemson in the preseason because the assumption was Clemson was going to lose more with the departure of Deshaun Watson than Alabama would lose with their graduated players. But I think Clemson has pretty much answered that question.
Ultimately it doesn't matter much if you're rabies in the top 4, but I'll personally believe Alabama is the best team in the country only after they beat Clemson.
This isn't like the situation a few years ago where Scott Demler was struggling on punts but he was the best punter on the roster so we were stuck. In this case, we know Joey has the skills to be reliable from inside 50, so obviously something has changed.
At the end of the day, we're paying James Shibest a lot of money to carry on the great special teams tradition that Frank started here. It isn't too much to expect a well paid special teams coordinator to diagnose and address the issue.
The strange thing to me is that I haven't really heard anyone make it out to be that bad to begin with.
And for those who just looked at the score, 31-17 isn't embarrassing. It's one-sided but not a 41-0 or 66-3 demolition.
Ed Orgeron has a $12 million buyout at LSU, and they're still paying Les Miles not to coach there.
If we go undefeated and head into the ACCCG 11-1, were easily top 10.

You wanna do WHAT to El Paso???
