I'm increasingly concerned that this is a Sexton masterclass. Even if Whit isn't overly involved, I worry we're being strung along by a guy who knows how to play this game and is much better at it than anyone on our side.

From what i've read on 247/TSL Whit isn't in charge of the search/hiring, it's being spearheaded by Roc and the committee that was formed. He's basically been relegated to just the rubber stamp guy at this point, so no i don't think it redeems him

You know, I used to think that lots of guys can coach, but after seeing our last two coaches I'm not so sure I believe that anymore lol.
I agree though, the overhaul is desperately needed if VT is going to get back to being relevant in college football.
To be fair, The Athletic reported that VT is ready to move on if a deal cannot be finalized soon, which seems pretty normal imo.
I'm a huge believer in football separating from the ncaa and I think we'll see it by the early 2030s at latest.
I'm less convinced that football teams should report to the school president instead of the AD.
I'm even less convinced that VT is going to be the school to start the new trend here.
Or CJF could just an offer over zoom, no?
Holy cow! Thank God for the later games! I managed to win the week at 4 right plus only 2 pts from the tiebreaker score. And congrats to the 4 folks who picked Arkansas and the six that picked Northwestern-those were the two I missed!
