I know what you're referring to

That metric counts for only games where viewers are announced. For many of our bigger games during that time ESPN tried to get them to the ACCNetwork to influence people to tune in there, and we would otherwise regularly show up on ESPN 2 level broadcasts because we would actually draw marginal numbers in otherwise poor broadcast windows. ACCN doesn't announce viewership numbers, so having some of our bigger games there significantly skewed our numbers poorly over this time, when the only times UVa was on main networks that report was against the likes of Clemson, ND, and us. Fanbases that would prop up an otherwise terrible metric.

I could see it being one of the 300 jock sniffers you have to hire now because Saban did it. Resources you know. What do they call them? "Support staff"? I could see a loser in a VT polo om Pry's payroll because we have to be part of the pissing contest doing this. Not a "real" coach though .

He was on the Jets last year but got hurt if I remember correctly.

As a Steelers fan, I'm excited to have a Hokie. Right now he's practicing with the third string, but should have an opportunity to move up the depth chart since their secondary (particularly safety) is a bit of a musical chairs situation right now

Fuck them all - I hope they all leave- this afternoon if possible. Fuck them, fuck Clemson, fuck Florida State. When VT was whipping Tommy Bowden's ass up and down the field, Clemson wasn't looking to leave then. When Willie Taggart was losing to Duke, nobody gave a shit about FSU. You can't have less juice in a football program than UVA- you can't- if their program went away nobody would notice. So fuck all of them. Leave the ACC this afternoon if you can.

ESPN and the ACC apparently. It was mentioned a couple years ago. But those might have been total TV numbers including basketball. But I am VERY happy to be wrong if that is the case.

Haven't posted much this year as I have really struggled. Made a path change over the winter and it has taken 4 solid months of playing to where I feel competent again. Handicap ballooned up to 17 and I was struggling to break 95. Somehow my partner and I won our first two matches of our clubs team match play event (yay strokes).

Last few rounds I found my swing thought and now 90 seems to be the target. Also, started working on lowering my ball flight on my wedge shots and reducing the number of full swings I take with them. Of course, we dropped our quarterfinal match on the 19th hole (after battling back from 3 down with 3 to play).

Got a weekend trip to northern Michigan to play the Dream and Nightmare coming up this weekend. Then in late August I am going to hit Southern Indiana. We're playing Sultans Run in Jasper, the Ross and the Dye at French Lick and finishing off this exceedingly difficult rota with the Pfau course at Indiana University. Hopefully my game continues to improve and then hold together for that trip.

Like vtnerf said, I'd like to see a source for that. When one team consistently sells more tickets to their games, I find it very hard to believe that the other has better TV ratings or streaming numbers

Edit: and even if they are a bigger draw than us, are they really a big enough draw that the big 10 can negotiate larger media deals than they already have to the point they can offset sharing revenue with them? Again i find that hard to believe. UVA is not a national brand or fan base the way UNC is. The fan base is not huge enough to be worthy of this treatment if I were to guess

Such a frustrating game. I'd been playing alright this spring into early summer. Had several rounds in the mid 70's so felt good headed to the member guest. I don't know what happened, but I lost all my yardage and my typical little 5 yard fade. The first day of the member guest was a struggle; thank small white golf ball jesus that my partner had a career round(s) for the first 3 nines. I shot 44-44-43. Ooof. Somehow we were still leading our flight, but I didn't sleep well knowing that. Then the last 2 matches hit and the wheels fell off. I lost 40 yards off my driver, every iron shot was weak, short right. I think in 45 holes I hit 13 bunkers. I didn't hit 13 bunkers in 6 rounds in Scotland. So out of character. Guess what! We didn't win the flight. Nothing like posting 46-43. After that I took 2 weeks off....no swings, no stewing over it. Just out of sight, out of mind.

Played Saturday and things were close to back to normal. Distance was back. Ball flight was back. Short game was solid. Decent 80 with 2 doubles. Guess we're back to our regularly scheduled programing.

You see Tyrod is gonna take his job in the 2-3 practices he gets as the starter, thus Fields ain't coming back this season

Where are you seeing that Fields is out for the season? Fields has a dislocated toe and was practicing (limited) on Saturday. All reporting I've seen says he will barely miss any time.

but Pry has only one skill at the P4 level, so you might as well listen to his press conferences cause it's where he shines

I, for one, have stopped listening to the sound bites and have started living in Missouri. Show Me.

Looking at OurLads, Hokie alum starters include:

Divine Deablo, LILB for Atlanta

The fact that this has been up for 4 days and has 2 comments really sums up perfectly where we are as a program/fan base
