I just got back from a trip to the States and on one drive the people I was with wanted Chic-fil-a and I had the worst chicken sandwich in 20 years. Fries are bland. The ONLY thing they have is sauce which they desperately need to cover up how shit the food is.
the pickle brine tastes like dishwater and "spicy" is barely noticeable. There are so many better fried chicken sandwiches. Give me Bojangles any day. Anything over this shitty food.
I also found In and Out wildly disappointing when I finally tried it.
We have a few small or "chain like" places recently open around us here in Manassas, some have been good. Others like Jersey Mike's I'll never step a foot inside.

Well I certainly hope we are, but I haven't seen much proof to back it up. There's no leaks saying VT has a handshake agreement to join the Sun Belt (lol). There's no boosters posting anything about the behind the scenes effort. LAHokie, what news brother?!
Imagine the fun a decade or so from now when Sands is ranked behind several Confederates when it comes to tenure as VPI president.
I think there's a bit of truth to that. But part of being a CFB hc is lobbying donors and your AD for resources. If you can't do that, you'll fall off eventually
The Pac12 once also had a handshake agreement with the P12, then they poached USC and UCLA
I mean, probably multiple reasons beyond just getting a P2 bid.
UVA is a perfect fit for a large conference who wants to get into VA to demand more money from TV Carriers. As the SEC/B1G get even more bloated they will want to add good Olympic sports athletic departments where football functions as a half step above a "buy game".
UVA does not fit in at all with the Big Ten. Northwestern is the only other small academic school and they don't fit in. The basketball focused bad at football BIG schools (Purdue, IU historically) still have ~50k enrollment.
While Fuente was in a bad position, he still had his own issues. I dont think more staff would have been a solution as he struggled being the CEO head coach and more people doesn't help that. But 2020 might look different if he had budget for Odom to replace Bud, and budget to replace Cornelson.
I mean why not recruit players you dont want to your rival?
So they get knocked for not scheduling home and homes with Purdue?
We all know tech does not have the support staff / resources to be pulling something like this haha. This is a big dog move.
Honestly kinda sounds like the coach got confused about which school he meant to say and accidentally said virginia tech when he meant virginia then had to roll with it
Can we just laugh at the premise that its even possible to recruit a player during a game he is playing? If you are going to actually recruit and tamper you would do it after the game... this doesnt meet the funny looks test

At the risk of sounding like a Michigan fan, literally everyone is doing this.
That being said, given the current state of VT Athletics, it surprises me 0% that we seemingly handled this situation in such a ham-handed way that it has come to light in the media.

I call BS. Especially for a player that is at UVA. I doubt we were recruiting for UVA.
What makes you think we aren't doing that?

USC - I doubt the 50 burger but probably a loss.
Vandy - I prefer to think defense adjustment and a better offense wins. Plus no penalty for same number.
ODU - Stompy, Stomp, we turn this corner on this series.
Wofford - Second and third teams get good minutes.
NC State- Nope, he gone and so are their chances of winning.
Wake - Who knows what the Deacon does from year to year.
GT - Probably a loss as they seem to have given up on holding athletes to their academic requirements.
Cal - Another win;
UL - Probably a loss
FSU - Good FSU and we lose, bad FSU and we win.
Miami - We are past the point in the year where the refs are actively cheating for them.
LOLUVA - We finish the nail in Elliot's coffin.
If Sands cannot position us to be picked up in the realignment race he will go down as an absolute failure of a President and overseeing arguably our worst overall period in sustained success in about 100 years when you look at the big picture.
If we are left out, everyone needs to be fired. And the entire BoV will need to be overhauled. Right now they are absolutely failing the school as a whole.
Isn't there lobbying though? Why isn't Whit driving and directing the narrative to Sands/BOV that we need a change to stay relevant in high level college sports, and why that's important for the university? Why isn't Sands lobbying the power brokers of these conference about how VT would be a great addition and fit?
My first thought reading this:
"Alright, we're finally playing the game"
Then seeing the RB went to UVA:
"Shit, we suck at the game"
