A buddy of mine had this interesting thought that Bud Fosters defenses started falling off when all those rules got passed about limiting contact in the pre-season. I think there's something to that. Bud's defenses were always hard hitting and decisive and that probably is a lot tougher to teach if you're not running full speed in practice.
If we have an experienced D Coordinator last year we win at least 3 more games (vandy, rutgers, miami, syracuse, duke come to mind as options) last year and that changes the complete perspective of Pry. So many of our games last year followed the idea that if our initial game plan didnt work we were in a who has the ball last kind of situation.
Having the experienced coordinators we have gives me hope that we will perform a lot better than we did last year. I think we lose to Scar but I think we hammer Vandy.
I know I'm in the minority, but I liked Fuente and think he was handed an impossible situation. You give Fuente, the resources that Pry has now and you likely have a much different outcome. I also dont blame him for interviewing for that Baylor gig. He likely knew what kind of budget was needed to build success and knew he wasnt getting it here.
Saban walked away from the game and it wasnt because he didnt think he could coach anymore. This isn't me comparing Fuente to Saban. It's me saying being a college coach is an even more brutal job today than it was in the previous generation and there are very few people that are going to be successful at it and there are even fewer that will want to do it for long term.
I said 4-8 in like April/may time frame and it's hard to see more than 5-7

GT - We have a chance if their QB is injured again

UofL - They easily handle us
FSU - Transfer QB that cant throw and no one likes, VT should win by a mile but we could easily pull a Cal
Miami - They lost all their talent and their coach sucks at in game coaching, should be us easily.
UVA - Win
The SEC plays the ACC and that's about it. The furthest games west KY has played was Texas last season. They play in their foot print. There are tons of states like the UK stat, UF played there first OOC road game in like 28 years last season. Bama has been across the Mississippi like 4 times all this century.
Let's be honest most of these places have gone out of business because they serve mid (at best) food and the prices have gone up across the board.
Also,buffets are just, not good quality.
And to weigh in on fast food chicken biscuit/sandwich joints. There is Bojangles on top and every one else off in the very far distance.
Chik fil a biscuits are awful. They are way to sweet. Maybe they're like Yankee biscuits I guess. But extremely overrated.
Well, speaking of Hardee's, I won't eat anything on the menu but the country ham and egg biscuit. Nobody else in this podunk town serves one and they always have to make it up fresh so it's always hot. Nothing else worth eating there, but a few times a year, I get a yen for one and they actually fill the bill. Still, over five bucks for a biscuit is absurd, but that's the times we live in, eh?
No doubt we've had some really good backs that just didn't make it, but we've also squandered some of them with piss poor performance in other aspects of the game. But fortunately, their talent didn't go unnoticed as the above comments prove, even for those with weak supporting casts. Thinking about it reminded me of OJ and the hapless Bills. Bad as they were, look how great he was. Until, of course, he wasn't, but damn, that dude could run that ball even without blockers.
Always glad to hear out guys do well, I feel like Hokies RBs have been snake bitten by injuries once they get to the NFL. I'm my life time, the only Hokie RB to have a 1000 yard season in the NFL that I can think of is Kevin Jones his rookie year, and even then I seem to recall injury issues after that.
Crazy guys like Stith, Suggs, RMFW, Darren Evans, and David Wilson could never find any sort of long term success in the league. If Tuten can stay healthy he's going to tear it up in the NFL.
Man, I'm hoping for a physical, well coached defense. I know the game has changed, but can it be that difficult to get your guys in the right position and show some get to?
I'd even put up with some losses of i can see some physicality again.

My family would hit the OCB (Old Country Buffet) about once a month. I loved it as a kid because of the macaroni, mashed potatoes, and the serve-yourself ice cream. While I miss it from a nostalgic standpoint, I don't think I would willingly go into a buffet style place today. Terrible tasting food that is terrible for you. Maybe because of our COVID experience, but I would be germophobic eating at a serve-yourself buffet.
I think another major trend difference is the focus on healthier foods or at least avoiding processed foods. There are not too many affordable family-style restaurants that fall within that trend. Affordable and "farm-to-table" are not coexistent.
Hold on to that card. It may be worth big bucks one day. Has a misprint on the back.
