Sure it was. Just not what I am looking for in Star Wars. Too each their own.
Okay, you're cut off. No more gif posting for you
C'mon, you're better than this. Put down the Paul Finebaum cream soda kool-aid, turn off e$pn and try not to be $ec brainwashed.
Regardless of what they try to feed everybody, it truly doesn't just mean more...
Wait, are you implying DC is a fan?
Significant lightning delays today so the mens 1500m now starts at 1025 PM. 400m is 1115, 800m is 1140, 200m is 1230 am. Mens pole vault was moved until tomorrow. Really sucks for the 10000m guys, their start time is now 1255 am to end the first days events.
Womens events start tomorrow.
They did get the hammer throw in before the weather. Lukas Baroke finished 13th with a throw of 212'-2" which is the worst position to finish as only the top 12 move on.
Music City Bowl from back when I was in grad school was a win. Not much since then I'm guessing. Anyway, enjoy the highlights here:
That's correct, that's what, their 3rd? The last one was when I was in HS.
Pretty sure I've never heard of him before this thread. Feel like I should listen to a song just to see. She was saying that it was big last summer at camp and that was what the college aged lifeguards were listening to. She's not a fan either.
Way back in the day, I actually used to listen to Alabama, Charlie Daniels Band, early Eagles (although I liked the late Eagles too). Of course, we're in the 1980s then.
It's more like pop-country. Beyoncé dropped a country album last year, and now you're seeing all these artist (Morgan Wallen, Shaboozy, Post Malone) who are using country rifts on hip hop drums and an auto tune. It's pretty catchy, and I hate most country music.
Actually learned from my 16 year old that country is very popular at (1) her high school and (2) her old summer camp, where she worked as a lifeguard last summer. Will be back this summer. Honestly had no idea country was 'hip' with the high school kids these days.
Haha true, but I meant somebody other than the fans
Yep that's exactly what I'm saying.
He does have that type of name recognition (at least on par with U2, AC/DC, and Metallica - not the others), you're just old lmao.
Probably the most popular pop/country star of 2025
Problem is that they aren't mid in anything anymore. Mid SEC maybe but still better than almost any ACC teams
Do we every beat Alabama in anything? Even when they are mid we somehow lose to them. Baskeballl....softball...so tiring
The problems here are various...
In regards to Whit....
1. He hasn't really done a good enough job to get promoted to a P4 job that would be at a higher or equivalent level i.e. no one is looking to hire him
2. He hasn't really done a bad enough job that he clearly needs to be fired ASAP unless you have a ready-made replacement
3. Whether or not he leaves or gets fired, who do you hire? I'm open to suggestions but dont see any real obvious candidates that would have a reasonable link or interest in VT. Do you try and hire an up-and-coming G5 AD who's at this point probably just trying to keep his head above water in the wild wild west of NIL? Do you try and poach a lower level administrator from a P2 program?
The overarching issue is from the top down VT needs a clear strategy in regards to Athletics. The decision to defund basketball was absurd. It is much easier to put together a basketball program than a football program from sheer numbers if nothing else. We've also pretty clearly had more recent success in either basketball program than Football. If you're limited in terms of resources/money, it would have made so much more sense to devote a higher percentage of resources to both basketball programs. We really don't know if that decision was Whit's alone or influenced from higher-ups at VT.
At this point, VT really has no reasonable chance to compete at a top level in college football. At best, we are looking at possibly breaking the top 25 intermittently. Until there are actual rules, there's really no way for us (and similar programs) to compete. I don't necessarily see any kind of framework coming together until the system collapses which I think will happen within the next 10 years--and who knows what the landscape (or what's left of it) will look like by then.
The other obvious issue is that we clearly need to move on from Beamer and Weaver-era Personnel on the Athletic Department. I think many of us know who we are talking about here.
The problem isn't simply money, you can look at Miami's men's basketball team as a case in point of how throwing stupid money around doesn't necessarily lead to meaningful results. I'm not sure VT fans or donors have the stomachs or the pocketbooks for that sort of roller coaster ride.
Shit, DC alone would have got us there
Its pretty sad when ODUs basketball facilities outclass ours.
If we wanted a title, then yup, pay him college football coach money and buy him a team, were already close, we don't need a whole team.
If that were all it took the combined rage of the TKP commentariat alone would've accomplished this a decade ago
They actually played each other when NAW was at VT and SGA was at Kentucky. That was when I first heard about it! I think the good guys lost by 7 that time haha.
Who is Morgan Wallen?
raving on the dance floor and drinking while she pimps off her daughter for the cause and implicitly (but not complicitly) signs off on the murder of her childhood friend (also for the cause) because he got cold feet about the cause. it was riveting character building

I still think it all sucks, but thats me.
The only reason I know Morgan wallen is because of two teenage daughters. One of them hates him though so at least one of then has some sense 😀
