With the closure of the Prices Fork Hardee's, I'm gravely concerned about VT's competitiveness in the NIL era moving forward.

An interview with Bailey Vitello, he noted that it was warm on the trail, but not too hot. This did make the snow soft and wet, which, in turn, resulted in some rough broken up trail near the end. That was why he pushed on a bit further to get closer to the front going past Manley checkpoint. Thinks the mushers further back will encounter slower conditions and wants to stay close to the front to avoid mush on the trail.

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I meant the best athlete across any sport at VT currently. I should have also mentioned Julia Fixsen, as she has been an NCAA champion in the women's pole vault. I imagine there is at least one wrestler also in the conversation, considering the success of that program.

But Plant and JLIV are both roughly top 5 in the country in their events right now.

Lawal, Johnson, Hammond in my opinion is the core we need to keep and build around. If Jaydon Young can channel the consistency and aggressiveness he's displayed in the past 5 or so games, then keep him in the boat as well. Schutt to space the floor. Bring in a talented big guy who can rebound, score in the post, spray out to shooters, and isn't a liability on defensive rotations and we have something cooking. Obviously that last part is easier said than done. Maybe Wessler/Gurdak can get it done but I'd like to see a bonafide improvement there.

With all due respect to Bhayshul Tuten and Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Judson Lincoln could make a strong argument for being the best athlete in his given sport at Virginia Tech. Here he is flying to the ACC 400m title Monday.

Nick Plant could also probably make that argument as well.

It does seem like ESPN got bored picking winners and losers at the conference level and decided to get more granular.
