Dorn's in the portal.
That leaves a starting 5 of Davis, Hansberry, Johnson, Jones, and Hammond, with Peterkin and Freeman as the bench.
I think today's players could get a basket then they'd get hip check into next week and THEN have issues with their 2nd shot.
Noted. I'm not even sure I like Poke but I'll definitely be trying it at some point.
Hey, I'm too busy trying to get out of The People's Republic of New Jersey! Not sure how The Land of Entrapment would compare. FWIW, there was a article I read recently that said New Mexico was the home of the most unhappy people or was the worst place to live or whatnot. Can't give any personal thoughts as I, of course, have never been there. Also don't put too much weight on any of those rankings as they all have different criteria and what is terrible for person A may be great for person B. But still not a great look. You live there? Was curious on what the scoop was. Article talked a lot about crime and economy not being great as well as poor healthcare in many parts of the state.
Maybe
On the other hand, those kind of schools would probably have their sights set higher than on a Franklin, unless he comes in and gets us to the playoffs in year 1. They're going to want someone who can have them win now. Franklin is a program builder, so that isn't a good fit.
And at the end of the day, we can make all of that meaningless if we just give him what he wants and get out of the way. We give him a competitive budget, an administration that allows him to run the program how he seems fit, and do it in the heart of his key recruiting fields, this is probably a more appealing job than a USC or FSU, which will come with far more oversight and pressure than here.
For the year, Michigan hit the line at 1.5:1 over opponent trips. When you play under the basket, might end up getting more foul calls throughout. When you shoot a lot of threes, prob not as many calls go your way. (UConn was actually around 0.8:1 for opponents. Last night wasn't a stretch on the standard stats for the year, just a little more than usual.)
For the entire season, 915 FT attempts for UM, 670 FT attempts for UConn.
Big keep with Makie gone. Her minutes just skyrocketed.
Not to mention the 2:1 free throw attempts.
I just say the final stats, was it as crooked on the court as it appears?
I put it this way the old players in the prime would probably foul out in today's NBA in about 7 minutes. Today's players in their prime during the 80's -90's wouldn't be able to make a shot based on the difference of physicality of play.
Aren't the games four - 12 minute quarters or 48 minutes?
Mary Washington where the college diploma is the same as a high school diploma.
Manta Ray snorkel is super cool. Get to the Kahuku unit of the national park if you can, it's totally different from the rest of the big island and it's pretty cool - we didn't have time to hike to the crater, but I'd love to if I ever get back there! We also enjoyed the Pu'ukohola Heiau historic site, which is right there where you're staying. It was the best of the three national historic sites on the big island. The fruit stand closest to Akaka Falls is great and the guys running it were super sweet - it's a big tent at a Y intersection (there's several fruit stands/farms on the drive up there)
Yes, yes, come to the Land of Entrapment 😂
Suffren is returning for the women!
I Completely agree. Franklin returning to PSU after one year would be completely unprecedented in any college (or maybe even professional) sport.
It won't happen.
But I wouldn't be shocked if Franklin left after one year for FSU, or USC, etc
Let's hope it givith more than it taketh.
the portal givith, the portal taketh away!
That Michigan comparison is a bit of an overall team comparison more than it shows individual defensive ability. One or two (or three) bad defenders are going to elevate everybody else's numbers along with their own. This definitely shows that we didn't have a lockdown five anywhere on our roster (or even a strong four who could cover up one weak link). Which both tracks with what we all saw this year, and is a bit of a problem if you're not shooting lights out every game.
Let the chaos begin.
hard to pick against Fitz if his driver stays on auto pilot.
Bobby Mac has been playing well but has been spraying his driver around...disappointed he didn't close out in San Antonio
Xander is my favorite American golfer but his putter hasn't returned.
can Hovland, Fleetwood, or Rose be considered dark horses? any of those could win
true dark horse? maybe Bhatia...he can get crazy hot. he can also miss the cut
Have a good, safe trip. I'm trying to get to all 50 states and the only 2 I have left are Hawaii and New Mexico. Need to get out to them before I die.
Careful eating at the poke stand right next to the Hilo Farmer's Market. I was sick for most of the whole week we were there.

Annette and pry are both example of guys becoming a coordinator at the place that fired them as hc because they couldn't make it as hc. Would not happen with Franklin. He has proven he can be hc so he would be given a shot somewhere regardless. No way he goes to take a job as anything but hc somewhere. And theres just no way penn state would offer him to be hc again
Bball officiating has become so sloppy, nonexistent too many times, and at best, inconsistent.
I'm 55, if the rules that were enforced when I was growing up today, I would foul out in the first five minutes or not foul out at all, as the ref's would be calling carries and travels every other second.
Today, the pivot foot can move as much as it wants as long as the toe is touching the floor. It's Bball's version of the electric slide. Players fall to the ground with the ball in hand, slide a few feet and it's rarely, almost never called. The hand slapping, the push off's, the over the backs, the reaching in's, etc., etc., etc.....
It's such a sloopy game todsy, it's hard to respect.

I was just looking at On3's transfer portal stuff, they've got Neo as a 96 rated transfer, currently the top combo guard in the class and 14th overall. I wish him well, but that seems a little nuts. He's a very good distributor, has a pretty good handle, is a questionable decision maker, and is a minus shooter. That's a tough combination, as we saw in critical moments over and over this year. Assume it's mostly based on physical talent and the assumption that the decision making can improve, but I'm a little surprised this year didn't hurt the hype more.
