Also, unlike last year, all of the starters are healthy (knock on wood). We seem to forget all the injuries last year, including Kendall Fuller, that forced Bud to play inexperienced guys and move to a more vanilla defensive scheme.
That's what I like to see!

No. Irregardless is a word!
We're (RVA) 3rd per capita in grocery stores. NUMBER ONE IN BREWERIES/WINERIES THOUGH
Oh, agreed.... I actually think our defense has always been good, and we even had a good defense the last few years, but the weight of the program being on their shoulders just was too much to carry and it overwhelmed them a bit, making them look worse than they really were. Now that the offense is lighting up scoreboards, the defense is rounding into the form it should have been all along.
And I completely agree with what you said. Seemingly every time you've seen a team with a great offense in college football its backed by a bad defense, going all the way back to when WVU, Texas Tech, and Oregon kicked it off nearly 10-15 years ago. And that's where we differ from the pack. Yes, we have an offense that can light you up. We also have a defense that can shut you down. I ran the numbers over the summer, and found if we are able to break 31 points in a given game, last years' defense would have won us the game. We're destroying that value this year, and our defense is lowering the bar on what we need to accomplish to win. If we can keep up this rate of play for multiple years on end, right now we have the formula to legitimately contend for a National Championship.
Which is insane to say for a team that was barely scraping above .500 the last few years
USAFHokie beat me to it but this bears repeating.

Agreed about the front 7 being the main catalyst for an improved defense, but I would argue that Mook is/has the potential to be great.
is "strategical" the new "irregardless"?
My answer: Yes!

Simply put, I think it is due to a wholesale culture shift. Offense, defense, special teams, training, conditioning, preparation, etc.
So you're saying we're a lock for the Orange Bowl this year?
Even though I had to change my pants, well done!
Stat of the Week: When Marshawn Williams has oranges in front of him, he juices them 100% of the time.

If we win in the dome... and then whip Pitt later... Fed-Hex must fall as well.

I implore everyone who enjoys the the incredible content on this site on a weekly or daily basis and isn't a part of the TKPC to consider whether or not you are getting $84 dollars worth of content out of this site a year. The film reviews, the coach/player interviews, the timely articles. If you believe you are getting what comes out to be $7 worth of coverage/enjoyment a month from TKP then I would ask that you revisit your budget and see if you can find room (without damaging your financial stability) to help support TKP so that this content can continue. Keep in mind, the TKP that we know and love might not be able to function as we have come to know it without increased financial support. I would ask that you read this original post (especially those of you who have returned to activity during the season) for more information on Joe's options if we are unable to increase financial support for the site.
Reading all these stats make my brain hurt, but I am a firm believer that if we continue to score more points than the other team, we will continue winning games.
yep, axis scale, it'll get after ya. Surprisingly no one predicted us to win by 50 points in any game at the start of the season. Silly prognosticators.
I love the fact that our odds of beating LOLUVa have increased, and our predicted margin of victory against them has shot up by nearly 50%, but their position on our chart has fallen
Yeah, we're so good we're literally breaking statistics
Hilgart's back there all, "Raincoats are for pussies."
Nothing will put me in a weird happy place until we shove a size 17 boot so far up Pitt's ass they're tasting the Kenan Stadium turf for a week
more than 5 touchdowns to start right off the bat is tough to pass up

Ugh, wrong reply
