The issue was it was an image showing we are second best while claiming to be the best. It's the one of the stupidest tweets I've ever seen.

Pipe Dream: Someone buys out Moe's and renames it "Mr. Fu's" like the old "Mr. Fooz" from back in the day (not my day, but my Old Man talks about that place from when he was there in the early 80's).

We have 4 tickets in 101 (one of the Hokie club sections). Judging by the ticket dumping on StubHub though, I doubt Keenan will be more than half full, and everyone will probably be able to sit stand wherever they want.

My parents and my grandmother live in Savannah and evacuated yesterday. My grandmother's nursing home took everyone to Macon, hopefully the 3 hour ride won't take too much of a toll on her. Parents live on Skidaway Island. Hopefully they won't get it too bad property damage wise, but we will see. They lucked out some with Hermine, a tornado touched down about 1/2 mile from their house. Looks like the power is still on Skidway Island as the bird cams are still up and running, so I guess that is a good sign for now. Hard to tell what the winds are like from them but one of the cams was moving pretty good earlier.
I think the only person that hates Matt Ryan more than us right now is Bene Benwikere

I'm in MD, so not affected by the storm, but much of my wife's family is in FL. Her parents are in Jacksonville (inland from the evacuation zones, so they are riding out the storm). They are on the Trout River, and her mom sent me these pictures. This is their dock as the tide came in (their backyard is usually about 3' higher than the water level, but the tide is coming in over that and into the backyard):

But seriously, though, that's a GREAT article. One thing that stuck out to me was that his entire article wasn't even accounting for the weather. When you throw in what we're expecting the weather to be, and knowing their best bet to beat us is on the deep pass in the middle of continual 20mph wind gusts and heavy rain, you have to really like our chances to pull this off.
Honestly haven't seen anything yet. We had a shower this morning about 2/3 am (baby feeding time) unrelated to the storm but man is the ground super saturated, the rain from this morning is still puddles around the area. We have everything we can get our hands on to be ready and just have to see what happens. People on the islands and in beach front homes in SC are in for a rough ocean it looks like. I'll try and keep y'all posted and if I can figure out how to post pictures from my phone to here I will.

2013: 6-6 with the big win being Pitt? They lost to every ranked team they played, but did beat Cinci. in a bowl game.
2014: 6-6 with the big win being GT? Pitt? Duke? They lost to every ranked team they played and then got blown out by Rutgers in a bowl game.
2015: 11-2 (by far his best year) with the big win being a close one to #23 Pitt. They lost to Clemson, but the game wasn't nearly as close as the score would indicate and they lost to a terrible USCE team to start the season. They finished it off by getting blown out by Baylor in a bowl game.
This isn't subjective, it's just who Larry Fedora is... It is who UNC is. A team that has benefited from playing teams in the weak Coastal Division. Every opportunity they have to win a big game, they simply don't (with the exception of #23 Pitt last year and FSU this year. But are we really calling those "big wins"?)
To add, you can speak with anyone close to the UNC program and they will tell you that Fedora is stubborn to a fault. And if you don't believe them, just watch a game. Why is one of the best RBs in the country only getting 13 carries per game? There are many things to list here. But my point is that there may be some subjectivity to my thoughts about Fedora, but the issues I bring up could certainly be used to support my claim that he/his staff is not as good as the staff at VT (and I understand that our staff has only been together for 4 games).
I have no idea if Whit was considering Fedora. If he would have moved in that direction, I would not have considered that a good move. I'm not saying he's done a poor job. I'm simply saying that coaching will be the X-factor this week. And I happen to think that particular caveat weighs heavily in the Hokies favor.

# | By the Advanced Numbers: Hokies Travel to North Carolina for Coastal Showdown While I would normally agree with you in that you never want to stop positive momentum, I feel like having a new system is an exception. Obviously most of the system gets put into place prior to the season, but the bye being this early gave another week for install for the upcoming coastal slate. I think it will be a positive and we may see more wrinkles tomorrow because of it.
Could part of that be from the fact that we have a winning record against Miami over the last 10-20 years? I think we (VT fans) lost our collective fear of the Miami "name" a long, long time ago. It's to the point with us that "Miami's back!" is a punchline within Hokie circles. I know that UNC has had success against the Hurricanes too, but last season was the first time UNC had posted a true "convincing" win over Miami. Naturally, they would see Miami as a bigger threat just from the fact that that they haven't had the same history against the Canes as we do.
