I will out un-luck you. I'm going to be at the PSU/UMd noon game. A 3:30 kick means I can go back to the tailgate and watch. Game will definitely be at noon and I will have to suffer through trying to listen online inside the stadium.

I'd root for a natural disaster but I'm going to be in the stadium

I actually like playing them every year. For all the crap this series has got, I think people are more upset about us than about who we're playing. From 2013-15 we either lost or almost lost to the Pirates, and the complaining began, but the previous decade we dominated them with few complaints. The difference is when we weren't complaining we were winning ACC championships and competing for BCS bowls, we started complaining only when we started swimming in mediocrity.

The series isn't without its benefits either. Either we get a competitive team to warm us up at home, or we get an actual test in a stadium that seats 50k, pretty huge by G5 standards. Beating them doesn't necessarily move the needle, but they can usually be seen as a quality win, where most other teams would schedule a South Alabama or ODU (ugh). I have no problem with beating ECU on a yearly basis, the only problem comes when we lose.

When Justin Fuente worked fast food in high school, he made sure every customer got an "accidental" curly.

Kinda thought Fleck might be gone after last season, he was getting some hype when we played them 2 seasons ago.

While I agree that most had us 3-1 and maybe 2-2 (ECU has had our number for 2 straight years). No one expected 103-17 in scoring vs ECU and BC, so I have to say that this exceeds "expectation".

Am I the only one who's still on the Gus Malzahn bandwagon?

-Won 3 HS state titles in Arkansas (and a couple more state championship appearances) as HC at 3 different schools
-OC at Arkansas for 1 year; goes to the SEC Title Game
-OC at Tulsa for 2 years; best offense in the nation both seasons
-OC at Auburn; won a national title and a Broyles Award
-HC at Arkansas State; wins the Sun Belt Championship in his only season
-HC at Auburn; National Title Game appearance in 2013 while winning every Coach of The Year award in existence

I find it odd that people are still debating whether the guy can coach or not. It seems like Auburn just can't find the right QB, that's all. Malzahn can get it straight. Firing him would set the whole program back and another program would snatch Malzahn up within 10 minutes of his firing.

I thought he was hired away from WVU to take the Michigan job, qualifying him for that list

I know a lot of TKPers revile Nick Saban. However, the one trait of Saban's that I have always admired is his ability to praise the work and effort of his players, and never criticize them unless it is in a constructive way, while also never bring satisfied with where the team and the program are at. It is a trait that separates good coaches from championship-caliber coaches, and it is a trait Justin Fuente has in spades.

Wait, all this time we've had Carl from ATHF posting here?

Poppers for sure. I also like to take a page out of the trout fly fishing playbook and do a popper-dropper rig with any number of small nymphs under the popper. Works just like the hopper-dropper but with more fish attracting sound out of the popper.

Damn I didn't get out enough this summer...
