Alabama, tOSU, and Michigan are all undefeated, mostly won decisively, and pounded their notable OOC opponents. We haven't beaten anyone of note yet, had little to no preseason hype, and lost the only big national stage game we've had. Give it a few more games, man.

I'm in the MVs, Fuente brought over his tradition from Memphis in which the team sings the Fight Song with the band at the end of every home game. We had to quickly teach everyone in the band the song in band camp, as most people, including the returners, didn't have much memorized at all.

Our best receiver is genuinely excited for his team mates to have success.

Jerod Evans has better stats than JT Barrett and still can't get mentioned. Wonder what the national outlets would say about his play if he had an Alabama, Ohio State, USCw, or Michigan jersey on. Something to think about.

for me the ECU scheduling snafu isn't about winning and losing necessarily

I get that it "makes sense" in terms of them being geographically proximate.

But it's boring. Whether we beat them into the ground over and over or have a healthy back and forth where you never really know which team will emerge victorious each year is beside the point to me. Admittedly, I have said that playing them is a lose-lose (or it has been in the past) because beating them does little to move the needle and losing to them can be back breaking for our perception. Perhaps that will change with the thumping we put on them this weekend but I don't know that we can rely on that to be the norm. In any case regardless of the win/lose debate I think the series limits our exposure. We already play a bunch of teams in NC. I would prefer to play interesting new teams from all over the country instead of being stuck with the same-ol'-same-ol' year in and year out.

My gripe with ECU isn't that they beat us when they shouldn't (though, I do hate that)....my gripe isn't even necessarily with them specifically. It's with the fact that we're stuck with the same non-conference team every year for eternity. It would be better in just about every way if we could play different teams year-to-year

Watch how they finish their blocks on offense. These guys....shall we say...are getting after it.

This team loves to play together. Fun to watch.

Are you thinking of the P5 games, maybe? We won more than three games at Lane from 2014-2015.

Living in the desert with plenty of mellow mushroom locations, I'd say the pizza is decent. I'm not a big fan of their dough, but I do like their some of their combinations pizzas such as the Thai and Buffalo. My favorite thing about MM has to be the reverse happy hour after 10pm where all drinks/drafts and apps are half price. $2 beer and $4 order of wings makes one happy hokie!

Just went back and re-watched that OT play. As I remembered it from the stadium, the WR bobbles the ball after his feet leave the ground to be out of bounds. He does secure the football on the ground, but out of bounds. This is exactly the same as Carroll's catch, which was ruled out. I sure hope we avoid Ron Cherry for our close games this year.

The one single thing I have noticed most this season: this team is mean. Not like, they have "swag" or a chip on their shoulder...just mean. It's been a long time since I've seen legit gang tackling all around the field, like they want to take someone's head off. I really, really like this team right now.

Thanks for the tip! I will keep that in mind for sure. My buddy has lived in the area his whole life, so I generally just go along with whatever he wants to do. I definitely like the idea of getting quality practice and catching fish at the same time.

Some of the best discoveries were accidents, ya know...

I agree, I've said this before but there are people who disagree with the ECU situation. I do wish we did have more variety in who we played OOC just to get fresh new looks and what not. Would be more fun imo

I can see where you're coming from. Winning the games we're supposed to win is part of stabilizing the program. For him to get us back on a truly upward trajectory, we've gotta start winning those games where no one expects us to. Nothing wrong with holding out to see if that happens. I like what I'm seeing so far, too, but expectations are tempered until we start winning some big ones.

Don't get me wrong, I WANT him to be the chosen one. I'm loving what he's doing. I think he's ignited a spark under Foster (who I think is still gunning for a HC job somewhere). I love the attitude he brings. What I want is for this to translate to sustained success. Luckily we have 3/4 of the season to see that.

I'd love to see the pre-game speech streamed into the stadium. What a great fan experience to get the fans ready for Enter Sandman
