The wife and I have to attend a one-year old's birthday party at 3:30 on October 8 (UNC game day). This party is in a park and is set to last from 3:30-5:30. Considering all of this information, I'm almost willing to bet my life on the fact that this game will kick at 3:30.
A #17 or #18 ranked Hokie team is not going to send pregame shivers down anybody's spine left on this year's schedule.

Speaking of other games to watch, check out north Carolina and FSU at 3:30 and then Louisville and Clemson at 8pm. Could be interesting.
I agree. The Hokies are right where most of us, and rankings people, thought they'd be at this year. 3 to the good over mediocre competition, and 1 to the bad on the national stage against an ok SEC team.

not saying he will get the job but I have heard from more than one notable source that PJ Fleck is high on the list for many p5 schools.
Don't think Herman would leave Houston for LSU.. sadly my money is on Briles even though I don't think he should be allowed to return as a coach or hold any athletic credentials at any school.

Crystal Ball says we will play them two Saturdays from now.
Being that they are in Louisiana I wouldn't be overly surprised by that headline.

James Franklin - Penn State. It's year 3, and being typical Penn State, they get uneasy about things not being what they used to be.
Initially read the title as "Les Miles Fried." That definitely piqued my interest.
I'm not saying they are the same calliber team, but they're not a bad team either. a Top 20 team in the country is pretty damn good. And I'm not saying wisconsin is a bunch of world beaters, I dont expect us to beat michigan or OSU but if we do we deserve some serious credit that this isnt a fluke. Wisconsin finishes the year around 10-15 range which in my opinion is still a damn good team, they remind me of the tech teams of old. Blistering defense, great special teams and a strong running game with a qb thats safe with the ball and can deliver a nice deep ball.
5th or 6th is pretty damning. who in the big 10 would you take over them? Michigan and Ohio state sure, but obviously not michigan state. Probably not Iowa after the last two weeks, Nebraska is a coin flip sure but I think the badgers beat em at home and Tommy Arm to strong. to me they're at least top 4 and deserving of a top 15 ranking. Are you telling me if tech played this same schedule right now we wouldn't be over the moon?
As for hornibrook and Wisconsin's lack of QBs thats pretty false. Brooks Bollinger, Scott Tolzien, and Jim Sorgi all were in the league for YEARS (particularly tolzien) and were all paul chryst products. Hornibrook is for real, trust me I've watched him live more than anyone else on this site. The guy can wing the ball and has a beautiful deep throw. My only concern was how he held up in pressure and Michigan state certainly brought the pressure. Want a good stat? Hornibrook's throws on 3rd and 10 or longer 6 for 6 for 106 yards and a touchdown... that is an AMAZING statistic, maintainable? probably not, but the guy is fantastic for a redshirt freshman playing in his first real game against a really good defense (yes michigan state has a good defense, year in and year out)
TL DR: I know the hokies would be over the moon about this start to a season, so i see absolutely no reason for the badgers and their fans to feel the same way
Case in point: Nigel Williams had himself a game on Saturday. Holy crap. Even if ECU didn't whiff on blocking Ekanem and 'Maine, pretty sure Williams was gonna either get Summers himself or draw a holding call. Split two OL like they were nothing.

I've been saying this for YEARS. Road games have a silver lining. Especially if the team feeds off of each other.
Ohio State is the only comparison and they've averaged 5 of 10 and never had 7 in a year.
