I'm sure a lot of people here saw it, but the College Gameday guys also poked fun at LOLuva and put the over/under for their total wins this year at 0.5. Pretty sure they all took the under. It's moot now, but it was funny when they did it.
Don't feel too strongly on this point, but if ECU was more appropriately recognized as a decent team by the national media, then I wouldn't care as much. Teams get knocked off all the time by non-power 5, hell, Wisconsin has two top 10 wins and nearly got platooned by Georgia State week 3.
National media cares about two things, pre-season top 25 and blue-blood programs. For example, if the Utes were just outside the top 25, the USC game recap would still be all over SportCenter, and they are 1-3 and 0-2 in conference! Who cares about ESPN, etc.? I don't, but I do believe that it influences national program perception far more than we would like to think, and has a trickle-down effect on the entire landscape, who is good, what games matter. I can't even catch an honest take from well-respected media on the Hokies outside of Jerod Evan's 55 yard TD run.
So I do believe it is lose-lose with this match-up due to bigger problems than just a trap game on our schedule.

It is something he would rather make a difference for the player than have them protest without a plan of action. Let them be an actor in a movement if they feel like they need to be a voice. not being where we all wanted it to be. They were always frustrating games and you

He first asked the question if CJF could ever remember a time when he was on the field for the anthem. When he said no, Norm asked the question of what he would do if one of his players wanted to protest.
I thought CJF did a marvelous job of answering it.
I'm not counting coaches who were fired or stepped away prior to getting their current head coaching job since that's different from being "hired away" from one school to another. He was fired from Michigan in 2010 and hired by Arizona in 2012.

Even Bama hits some big plays, to loosen up the D. Vick was the last time that I felt like we really took shots down field. It's amazing how much things opened up when that happened.
At the same time, I'm not sure the stats exist, but I'd wager that the proportion of drives that end in a TD, included 10+ plays is relatively small. The majority of drives that end in a TD will either have 1 big play of 40+ yds or multiple plays of 15+ yds.

Wilson went to NCSU under the condition that he could play both sports. It was wrong of O'Brien alter that condition, so yes, I would have made a different choice, even if I wasn't the person who brought the QB into the school.

# | Ask TKP: A Quarter of the way through the 2016 season, have your expectations changed? When I did my preseason preview for TKP, I put us at 8-4 with losses to UT, UNC, PITT, and ND. I called the Miami game as the biggest game of the year.
I now fully trust in my gut reaction that we would have 8 wins, but I'm now starting to see the potential for 9 or maybe even 10 if the cards fall right.
Let's assume VT beats the teams the "should": Syracuse, Duke, GT, LOLUVA. That puts us at 7 total wins. That would leave VT needing one win from UNC, Pitt, Miami, and ND to get to that 8 win mark.
UNC and Pitt has continually shown us major problems on their defenses, respectively. Both have good offenses, but the chance to score is there. Miami looks the part of a top-15 team, but they are largely untested. Suddenly Notre Dame doesn't seem such a daunting road game, given Dukes recent win.
I now think VT gets to at least 9 wins, beating UNC and Pitt. I'll go 9-3 this year, which is a major step in the right direction.
Also helpful is that he appears healthy. He did not appear to be at full strength last year.
I love the fact that we have doughnuts references at the post game pressers the last two weeks.
not as boring...but I'd still rather play a variety of teams instead of the same ones (non conference, of course) over and over and over. I would be okay with playing aTm (or even ECU, for that matter) ONCE every 4 years so long as there is a healthy mix of other teams sprinkled in during those 3 off years
Not to mention, Jimbo was upset at post game presser about the defensive effort.
