Steve Addazio has been waiting anxiously all year for this thread because:
It proves that someone actually noticed there is a college football program near Boston.
We say way nicer things about him than anyone else after his winless conference season last year.
He learns new ways to get attention in and around the Boston area.
He feels like he did something to earn his own celebrity roast.
He doesn't think all of the jokes don't go over his head.
Yeah, why do that?

I was very curious about this new rule also and appreciate everyone's input in understanding it.
Sounds like the referees are more likely to be conscious of Wyatt and ding him with this confusing ruling when they might have overlooked it because he is "very loud". We are excruciating aware of how much referees have rewarded our players in past years for excessive mouth running.

# | Ask TKP: What's your one positive and negative takeaway from Battle at Bristol? Just to mention a few that I haven't seen mentioned before:
- I'm really excited about both the offensive and defensive lines. Overall, much better play on the OL than we've seen in the past and the DL looks vintage VT to me. I love how they collapse the pocket. Great DT depth. I'm suprer excited about the defense.
- McM and McK looked good in the backfield, and more than Liberty, I liked how Foo got in a good rhythm with the tailbacks. Rogers was used less but more effectively as well. Very happy about that.
Finally, the one big con:
- Another Charlie Brown kicking the football at VT reclaiming relevance. That's all we are playing for here. Become relevant again. In the past few years, you've seen TCU reclaim it out of nowhere, MSU and Clemson push into the top tier, UNC reinvent themselves, Iowa (!) become something that someone cares about. VT can do it too, but Saturday night was some collateral damage to our brand. We need to go away for two weeks in games people won't watch against BC and ECU and get better. Then go surprise UNC in a game that is in the middle of their toughest stretch of the season. Then take out Miami at home on that Thursday night. If we do our work, we can be relevant again by October.
I didn't notice the cheap shot on Conte during the game. That was a good 2 seconds after the play. No wonder things were getting out of hand, but of course Tennessee never got penalized for unnecessary roughness.

except....we were moving the chains...until we fumbled. We only went 3-and-out 3 times and we had 21 first downs. Tennessee also went 3-and-out 3 times but they only had 16 first downs. We converted on just under half of our 3rd down attempts. Tennessee converted fewer than a quarter of theirs. We were moving the chains..that wasn't the problem. We were fumbling. That was the problem.
BUT, BUT, if it doesn't have its own thread, it might get lost in the flood of comments...
TMac had 127 yards on the ground. We totaled 186 yards rushing (and that factors in the sacks and lost yardage on the bad snap fumbles). The running game isn't as bad as you're making it out to be
