I definitely get what you're saying with getting the feeling that we were the butt of a joke. We were disrespected at every opportunity. Our presence was a nuisance at best, the entire production was done for the benefit of Tenn fans. My least favorite was presenting the guinness world record plaque to the sponsor...and he's decked out in Tennessee gear. Then return to the game and 2 phantom penalties get thrown. Not to mention they skipped what looked like an interview with Beamer to show a pizza commercial.

Cons - We lost on "the big stage" to an SEC team that we could have beat.
Addazio wanted to coach for BC because he felt a connection with Baldwin, their mascot.

# | Ask TKP: What's your one positive and negative takeaway from Battle at Bristol? Agreed. At this point I have to say I was 100% wrong about them being a legit top-10 team. Right now I think best case they go 1-1 against UF and UGA. Of course that might be good enough to make it to the SECG, but then they'll just get to lose to 'bama for the second time.
I mean, we just lost a big game in an awful way, but this is kind of an overreaction IMO. Vice is going to be just fine. Our offense looked good when we weren't shooting ourselves in the foot. I think we all need to take a deep breath and realize that these coaches have known these players for less than 9 months and have practiced with them for even less. Vice needs to set up how his players act, practice and play within his scheme and style. There will be bumps but I think it will be for the best.
I noticed as we were walking through before the game that there didn't seem to be many concessions lines for the number of people in our section. As far as I can figure it's probably because purple are less concerned about missing action in a NASCAR race, especially early on, whereas football fans tend to try to time their breaks with TV timeouts and quarter breaks.
Need to be able to make convincing substitutions (i.e. not just on running plays or sweeps) so that those three can stay fresh enough to block and maintain routes.

I figured it was because a lot of the cameras were really far away and using large lenses. Your normal image stabilization algorithms/physical devices can't function the same way at large distances. For a still shot, it's hard to tell the difference because your lens can more or less make up for it. But for motion, any slight shift gets magnified like crazy through a zoom lens.
Agreed, it's hard to blame Stroman when he's taking first contact at the 10. For the record I simply don't see what our coaches see in him as a returner, but Saturday night was mostly on the guys in front of him. I am trying to be patient but so far our STs have been just as bad as the last 5+ years. Shibest is supposed to be one of the best in the business but you damned sure can't tell by how his unit has played the first two weeks.

Con - Not having more than one pro to shout out Mook, our DTackles, Chuck Clark, Shai, Travon, and Ken Ekanem.
Tenn probably had the best set of DEs we will face this year, IMO at least. Barnett was pretty much taken out of the game. Tuttle was probably their most disruptive guy period and even when he wasn't collapsing the pocket he was altering passes with batted balls. I was very concerned coming into this game about the OT spot and that was probably the best OT play I can recall in the last few years.

I agree. I think we had a deep pass called a few times in the 3rd, but Evans had to run for his life and could not get a good enough read to get them off. I think this killed two drives, so we (refreshingly) went away from something that was not working.
