Yeah, the vault game.
VT fan started with $50, and won $100 in the vault.
Tenn fan started with $100, and won $500 in the vault.
But I'm sure it was just random chance, right?
Lots of short fields for Penn State today. Pitt also lost 2 starters after week 1 to injury. Starting LB and Defensive End did not play vs Penn State and are gone for year. May take a week or so to get backups up to speed, but if anyone can I think its Narduzi.
We didn't have any trouble getting out of the Earnhardt lot. Certainly not saying your situation wasn't annoying or possibly problematic but BMS made it clear that veichles wouldn't move for at least an hour to account for pedestrian traffic. I'd say BMS has that down to a science.
Charlotte has a decent setup around the track where all the lanes become outbound lanes, but they all suck.
I agree on all accounts about Ford. However, Bucky ran the ball for about 5 yards a pop and he didn't get stuffed on any. Not a bad chunk of yardage to keep the chains moving.
Dont worry he is not going PRO! Definitely not this year.
No excuse for Ford and Bucky concerning doubling, that is what #1 receivers and projected 2nd 3rd round draft guys do, they get doubled and face the #1 guy on the other side. They must still find ways to beat coverage and make plays. BUCKY is not a running threat! Ford needs more versatility in his game to get more looks. He has to start returning kicks or running those jet sweeps. Dont know if he can but something will need to be done to get your best player the rock.
I just want us to be able to get a 3- or 4-year starter again at QB. I like Evans, but if he plays well enough to go pro this season, which he very well could, he probably will not stay and we'll be back to square one. I'd like to see him play well this year and come back, hopefully with Ford and a few other weapons. If that doesn't happen though, I hope Jackson gets his shot and plays for 4 seasons for us.
I just don't like the high turnover rate at the most crucial position on the team. Really, I'm just aching for another Tyrod and 10+ win seasons.
They might not win another game all year
Gotta win one before you can win another
Regarding the traffic, I have been to a few Nascar races at different tracks (Richmond/Martinsville), and it always takes multiple hours to get out. I'm not sure there is a solution for that one.
As someone else who was at the game, there were times where it really seemed it was a Tennessee home game where BMS was gracious enough to have given us a 40k ticket allotment. The Tennessee band also got fireworks during their halftime show, and a number of other benefits. And of course the Tennessee fan was given 5x the amount on that "vault giveaway" promo.
I agree 100%
You are accurate in that assessment. That game was neutral site in name only. That was a Tennessee home game all the way down to the presentation.
That literally happened right in front of two officials. Instead of a first down in Tenn territory we have a short punt and a personal foul on People's that is never shown.
I have never seen a game where that many personal fouls fail to garner a replay.
- Didn't see either of Teller's.
- Cunningham's PF, which was a huge play in this game was never shown. On that play we had a long first down run plus a PF on UT. Instead we replayed the down.
- Didn't see the People's play on punt team.
Motu's and Baron's were both legit but both paled in comparison to the Reeves-Maybin play.
Alum you were at the game right? So on TV it seemed like a lot of Tenn "perks" that Tech didn't get. Tenn Band best field and miked up for intro, fireworks after their TD, could you expand on the overall setup by BMS?
Thanks for the well wishes. I was at the game and as for my experience both fan bases conducted themselves well. Nothing but love for the Hokies. Good luck going forward but I don't think y'all will need much luck once you get this thing hitting on all cylinders
Maybe because he was open? Get used to Ford not making a lot of plays. He is not an unknown entity any longer. He will get more attention and draw teams number 1 corners. Dont know if he can consistently beat top corners and double teams. He will have to do it because WR depth is not great. Please inform the coaches that Bucky is not a running threat. sweeps etc are waste of time and snaps. He like Ford must step up and Play up to the hype or the offense will show flashes but lack consistency.
I think that if the fumbles were cleaned up, I think we walk away with the W. Tenn didn't really impress me for as much as they were being hyped.
I still have to go with Michigan. We outgained them 377-184 and over 1/3 of their yards came on a deep ball where we had two defenders in position to intercept the ball only to collide in mid air resulting in a long TD and a Michigan botched FG attempt where the holder threw the ball up for grabs near the end of the first half. They had about 5 offensive lineman illegally downfield on the latter.
As other people have said this struck me as a winnable game. However.....I am troubled by how much we have turned the ball over. If they clean up their act this team can do well this year. Fuente needs to take a page from the movie the program.
It was even called The BATTLE at Bristol!
Good thing they picked up the flag on that Tennessee linebacker who took the cheap shot at the back of our O-lineman after a play. I'd hate for him to have to miss another half a football game, how could the announcers talk about how great a player he is then?
Heard from #sauces that the refs threw Teller out of the game after his second personal foul in the first quarter.
So that's why he didn't play the rest of the game.
Yeah and use it on all the coaches. What happened to the mantra of "We are going to do what we are good at" (paraphrasing?) I didn't see us good at much. This is not that young of a team.
I don't mean to be totally negative because there is still a lot of football left but I am just incredibly disappointed at some of the mistakes that were made.

Bucky had a 5.5 yd rushing avg last night, I'll take that.
