Yes we did get beat, but not by UT. And not by the refs. We got beat by VT.
I can't help think that this team has a higher upside than we've seen in a long time, whenever we learn to hold onto the ball, that is. There's only a certain number of self-inflicted momentum killers you can bounce back from in a game.
I'll second what he said. His detail was pretty spot on.
There was lots of water, it was provided by InBev.
Obviously fumbles were a huge problem, but in reality we actually just fumbled twice. One fumble was a mistimed snap on the jet sweep (easily fixable). Another was Greg Stroman trying to catch the ball so it wouldn't bounce off Curtis Williams cus he was in the way (again should be easily fixable, stromans usually very surehanded). And a third was the snap that went like 5 feet over Evans head. We clean those up and get Cam to hold onto the ball tighter than we're in pretty good shape.
I saw the mics thru the binocs and was wondering why they were not turned on.
I'm sounding like a broken record but Motu needs to KEEP HIS FEET ON THE GROUND! Jump to block a punt; jump to break up a pass; jump for joy. DO NOT EVER JUMP when approaching someone you might have to tackle.
He gave up a winning TD last year doing it; he did it last week; and he did it again last night. Unreal.
I found the old play calls we were going to use

Yes, there's a lot to be encouraged about, just like there has been a lot to be encouraged about in 2015, and 2014, and 2013...so on
Nope big difference...I didnt hear this

i dont think i saw this

remember this problem solving

and for good measures

i think they hit Williams both times
Except that flag was picked up. I don't care what herbie thinks, but it's unacceptable that a play like that doesn't get penalized.
I'm sure we can work something out!
i think they hit the same guy, Curtis Williams, both times. bizarre
Offensive line exchanges have given me an ulcer. I get the penalties but just sacrificing a part of the interior, I don't get it. I'm hungover.
Oh gosh, another victim complex comment claiming the announcers are against us and biased towards the opponent. Literally Herby was saying that that was a cheap shot by the Tenn LB. He was saying that it was unnecessary and didn't accomplish anything and even mentioned it again when we had the personal foul the next play. Really getting sick of the constant victim complex I keep seeing.
No way. They would have discussed the refs ejecting him. You could see JF say "pull him" on the sidelines right after the second one.
I'm in the Marching Virginians, we did have mics up front, not sure how many or if they were working though. While I wish we got fireworks and all that we still had a good time. Couldn't tell you on the sound issue as it was all loud for me :)
I'll second a lot of comments made already.
Gate 13 was back up and we left after hearing other people walk by and say scanners were broken. Went in at gate 16.
The bands were not micd evenly. Tennessee band would blast us and in the tech student section we could not hear our band at all. Even during halftime. It seemed like they planned to try to show off the Tennessee band or something with the show and guest and crazy fireworks.
A lot of little things that seemed like they were maybe done on purpose to snub our side. Fireworks for Tennessee touchdowns ( though the skipper theory may make a little sense ). our teams entrance was weird. We ran out, our band was playing as we would after enter sandman. Just figured they decided not to play it for whatever reason, but then thunderstruck played overtop of our band. Then enter sandman played before a kickoff while we were still playing well. It was a joke, and Im sure someone in control was having a good laugh at our expense.
During the game I just felt like there were multiple times where it felt like bms was making fun of us. The game had its own set of ups and downs, and it could be partially on my head after a few things, but it certainly felt that way. Felt worse after the game over that then the game itself.
End rant.
You are correct. Meant to say unsportsmanlike, but apparently blocks below the waist qualify as that nowadays according to the new rules.
Not sure I completely understand it, but he was assuredly DQed.
As far as non-official sites go, I typically had good luck with thefirstrow.eu but haven't used it for a while so can't say anything about it being good now. Stream quality would be hit or miss and it probably isn't the best for your computer but it worked
Damn, maybe I just have higher threshold for "boring" games, but I'm pumped for ACC play. I think we have a real shot at winning a lot of football games if practice right and work on shoring up the fumbles.
One snap was outside the red zone but was recovered inside. The other was both. Regardless it was a 14 point swing.
If you're using an actual computer, you might have some luck streaming via the official Fox, CBS, and NBC sports sites.
If you only have a phone, then you need the NFL mobile app.
I noticed this too during the post game interviews and it had me very worried.
They won by three...offensively they looked great. No defensively though.

And yet you still mentioned that the announcers want to talk about how great he is? Even though you know that they have nothing to do with who the refs call the game? Weird.
