Here are my thoughts. If Teller did something egregious enough to be in the seriously bad graces of the staff, suspend him. If he didn't do something that is worthy of a suspension, but is worthy of a benching, then completely bench him. If he didn't do something worthy of being benched completely, start him. I don't mean this in a harsh way, but I wish they would stop pussyfooting around by pretending that he is second string. He should be starting or he should be benched. Make a decision.

You know, everyone mocks Shane's boxing glove on a stick, but honestly I have been unimpressed with what has been released via Snapchat on ball security. I know that is only a small slice of what actually happens, but contrast Shane trying to punch a ball away vs. Cornelsen and others yelling about ball security while barely tapping the ball as the guys run by. I want every drill to be meaningful, and I want to see assistants punching the ball, trying to strip it. Five freaking fumbles vs. Liberty, really? Four lost, and two leading to scores? Something more needs to be done. Shane's methods may have been maligned, but outside of the Miami 3-turnover debacle, we did really well with protecting the ball.

It does feel like a one play game now and unfortunately, I fear it will come down to whoever makes more mistakes. Both teams struggled with turnovers last week. I really hope Fuente is preaching ball security on every play this week.

That said, I completely agree with your post. Keep them right where they are. Somebody has to be the dregs of the FBS and ACC. They fit that role nicely.
French- Not picking on Sam but saw this play early 1st drive ( 1st o line clip) and I am wondering what Sam's key is? Looks to me like he has a ton of space outside but cuts it up behind the block of Pettit? Yes the vision to see this cutback lane or space plays a major part as well.
As someone who now unfortunately is employed by ECU, I'll also give this fun tidbit.
An outside company was hired to create a student convocation video a few weeks ago, and in the rough draft the opening title read "The University of East Carolina."

To anyone worried about how vanilla the offense was last week, this should be exciting.
Also, I'm beginning to think this whole Teller 2nd team and rogers 1st string thing is all a major ploy by fuente and co to misdirect UT on the monster rushing game we're going to have Saturday. In order to convince Butch and staff, they have to be totally committed to the plan which includes confusing the hell out of our fan base. If that is the necessary evil, I'll eat my vegetables to get to my dessert. I just hope the dessert isn't some dried out leftover cake.

Bucky had a step on each of his TD's, but on most of Ford's catches, I felt like the coverage was pretty good, Ford just did a better job of adjusting to and finding the ball. Ford was just a bit more athletic, but that DB was a good athlete. I think he and Ford got tripped up on a couple of those long routes; they were battling all day.
This with text saying, "Who's a sad boy?"
The last time I remember someone running us to death was Alabama in '09. They just hammered us in the run game, especially Ingram late in the game.

We are looking into this as well for a few of our people that are camping with us. We have been told there are places around that will offer overnight parking (not affiliated with the speedway). Price is the question and I doubt they are going to be incredibly close as far as walking distance. I have also heard that, for races at least, even though they don't offer overnight parking they don't exactly shoo you out of the lot. And also to expect the egress from the parking lots to be quite a nightmare, so you may have time for a bit of a nap before finding a permanent spot.

just so we're clear here, your criteria for a great team is that they can't have more than half of their wins against FCS or teams with less than a .500 record correct?
i went a head and for comparisons sake:
the 1999 VT Hokies (who some have said were pretty good/the greatest team in school history):
Beat: JMU (FCS), UAB (5-6), Rutgers (1-10), WVU (4-7), Temple (2-9), Pitt (5-6)...plus clemson who finished 6-6, meaning that of their 11 wins, 6 were against FCS or teams less than .500 and a 7th against a .500 team. Does this mean that the 1999 were not a great team?
i only looked at this team but i'm sure this holds true most years for top teams
