I loved when they played USC in the rose bowl several years back. USC opened a can on them and were up big in the first half. SC fans started mocking them, chanting "We Are, SC."
Vols struggled with jet sweep action last night. I don't want to make too broad of an assumption from this one small note, but this theoretically bodes well for our offense. Seemed to me like misdirection and motion was influencing Tennessee out of position and flat footed at times. Thoughts on this?

Was it just me, or did Tennessee find more success once they opened up the deep ball last night than when they were focused on the run game and short passes?
I think App St exposed some weaknesses last night on both offense and defense. Which of those do you think might be relevant to the VT-Tenn matchup next weekend?
Overrated offense last night or just a bunch of bad circumstances that led them to lose their focus?

# | Did Tennessee-Appalachian State Change Your Outlook of the Battle at Bristol? That's not necessarily true. There are at least 3 big games on Saturday that top 10 teams could fall in not accounting for major upsets. At the end of the day, UT may fall but they still won and may stay above other teams enough to stay in the top 10. Plus, SEC and votes will play the whole "overcome adversity" card methinks.
Last night - reason for hope or facade that's hiding the beast?

VT alumni are crowded into the DC metro area because that's where the jobs are. Not many of us settle back in the NRV. While UT has a crapton of alums in Knoxville, they also have a huge population of non-alumni locals who make up a chunk of their fan base (850+K as of 2014. Not so much with Blacksburg for us.

A decent light beer (Coors, Miller, or Bud) to get me through the quantity aspect of the day and something good like Big Boss Harvest Time to savor.
- Games - Historically, we've always gone with some combination of Cornhole, Can Jam, or Bucket Ball, but I love the idea of Giant Jenga. Pong balls are brought, even if not used.
- Booze - at least one 6 pack of good beer, at least a case of cheap beer for drinking games, liquor/mixers, and airplane bottles for the game.
- Food - If you're drinking, you need food, or a plan to get food. I'm a fan of bring local BBQ or bojangles or wings. Sometimes I'll even swing by DT and grab a mid tailgate meal. I typically don't go the grilling route... I find that once everyone starts playing games and socializing, no one wants to work the grill. That being said, if someone volunteers, I'm more than happy to supply burgers, dogs and condiments.
- Solo cups, and solo shot glasses depending on how rowdy you're getting
- Koozies, and back up koozies
- Ice/cooler
- Rain Jacket (just in case)
- Dewalt speaker - This thing is a great investment if for any and all outdoor activities. It can withstand rain, it can be dropped on to pavement, and it's powered by drill batteries, so power is not an issue. Only downside is there is no bluetooth.
- Music - Take notes kids: Jock Jams Pandora Radio is the perfect playlist for every tailgate. Literally the only reason I still have this the Pandora App on my phone.

ALways at my tailgate now is the best beer for football season I've found, Bell's Best Brown Ale. I was introduced to it at the OSU student union before we beat them, which makes it taste so much better. Only released in September/October.
