Apologies but I'm going to have to disagree here...

Just me being curious. Where are you getting the information about ticket sales?
Just remembered, go to Our Daily Bread in the little plaza where the cookout is. Fucking amazing brunch
My only issue with this is I don't want Michigan in the National Championship. For that to happen we would have to suffer obnoxious Jim Harbaugh updates on E$PN and their insufferable fans all season. Let them loose early and often.
I'd disagree on more parking. Increased parking and free parking hasn't actually been shown to help business, and it's poor land use by any locality. Parking should be for people like you who are traveling long distances to reach a destination. Parking now is for people who live in Blacksburg, residents who should be able to live close enough to walk but can't because their housing is far away. Free parking encourages people to use their cars more, it won't necessarily result in more spaces. (Most meters in Blacksburg are free either after 5 or after 7).
The new font is awesome. "Virginia Tech" looks so good in the endzone, it would be perfect to be in both. As stated above, the "Hokies" looks so small and out of place...
I go through there on my way to MB and back every year. I consider it the halfway point of the journey.
My impression of L'ville's "cred" was that it was more in hoops vs gridiron (btw, I'm SO glad we own the overall record/series against them). Plus, they are located in a moderately big (I use this term somewhat loosely) met area (thinking comparable to: Richmond, Raleigh (Research Tri), Charleston (SC), Rochester, etc).
Upvote for paying attention. I don't predict, I know, and there is no reason to spoil the surprise.
Blacksburg has a limit for how many places its population can support. If you were to put bars on Patrick Henry, either the new bars or the old bars would go under. If the DT bars go under it hurts Main St. And don't forget, students going to DT bars also get food at DT restaurants before the go to the bars or after they leave. That would be a lot of business lost.
Townies are not usually going to go out on a weekend night. If they are they would go to a place they know students won't be packed in shoulder to shoulder. DT should be able to support both. The reason it can't is because it is meant to be walkable, but everyone, students and townies, have to drive. A lot of people, again both students and townies, avoid DT because they can't find parking. My argument is that if student housing were closer to campus and DT, students would walk, leaving the parking lots more accessible to townies who live far away. Your idea is in line with the thinking that developed Hethwood, UCB, S Main Kroger, and First & Main. They have taken business away from a DT that needs it, and strip malls like those aren't exciting.
I remember hearing a few years ago that the old National Bank of Blacksburg building was auctioned off. Has anything gone in there yet? Or are there plans? I thought a brewery could do an awesome job with that space.
Not great news but once we start winning and picking up momentum I think this will turn around quick. The cost, time, and travel becomes a lot less of an issue when the product on the field is worth it.
Fix the damn hill that Blacksburg was built on that only goes up.
I'm gonna guess the answer is the same as the one for the scoreboard and padding replacement. Time and money.
Too much. You either need to have bold white sidelines or no coloring in the endzone. Can't color the endzones and the sidelines without it being an eye sore against the green of the grass.
It is looking like not being in the Richmond or coastal area that day is going to be a good thing.
Oh its worse than that.... We brought in UofL because they have an elite level basketball program.
ECU's current program rivals what ours fell to in its worst state.... they're absolutely horrid
Latest Models pushing it East I think. Is this what you are seeing eshiben5 ?
You have nailed so many forecast in the past.....but I'm cheering against you on this one.
These are great!! I think I prefer the bottom one just because you get more clear contrast in the endzones but when I posed the question I was actually thinking more along the lines of the top image. You definitely delivered!

Yes, playing ECU is annoying. Yes, it sucks that it's ECU's Super Bowl. However:
a) VT has to play someone and would likely replace ECU with another unappealing mid-major;
b) Thanks to the ACC schedule change VT plays Duke and UNC home/away in the same years. Playing @ECU allows them to tell recruits in NC they'll be playing in NC every year.
Please don't apologize for providing useful insight into a topic of discussion.
Someone should send them to Whit and ask.
I thought he took over a management position for Gobbler Country, or something. But my memory isn't very good so I'm probably way off base there

AND DANNY COALE FUCKING CAUGHT THAT BALL!!!
