I'm pretty sure I was 10 when that happened (not exactly sure the year of the game) and I remember listening to the game on the radio and Matt Ryan driving the field and scoring with 21 seconds left. All I could say with my broken 10 year old heart is " there's still time left", to this day I'll always hate Matt Ryan
I agree that this is possible scenario but I don't like that approach. It didn't work out well for Ohio State last year as both QBs were on a short leash and I think it prevents a QB from becoming comfortable/confident in their position. I think its much better for the team to have a named starter and stick with them. IMO the QB should be the leader of the team and they need to have full confidence in their role/starting position to be that leader.
This is kinda like the season 6/series finale, when Joey comes back to Capeside and has to choose between her current boyfriend or Dawson or Pacey (whom she realizes she still has feelings for upon her return). I mean, it's a little like that, right? Guys?

I don't really care who starts as long as they are the best. However, as a human with a body, I wonder how ready Jackson's body is to handle the rushing aspect of playing QB in this offense. 10-15lbs can make a huge difference in the amount of punishment one can handle on the football field.
When does voting end?
Yeah man, our oldest started last Tuesday. My wife is definitely going through some tough anxiety. Our youngest is just past 8 weeks and just started daycare. The wife started back to work on Monday. That's messing her up worse than anything.
As far as Kindergarten goes, the bus is a bigger issue than class. She got scared the first couple of days getting on. We live near the school and the bus is pretty full by the time it gets to our house. The second day she walked up the steps, turned around and tried to walk right back off. It's improved already though. One of her little friends from class is on the same bus and they sit together.
It's natural for parents to feel anxiety when they start school and those of us who work to feel guilty about putting the little ones in daycare. Its all part of their development though. It's how they learn to act around people, to deal with people they don't get along with.
I'm sure you're a great dad Fireman. They'll be just fine.

Unless they are all 3 playing out of their minds, it seems like a bad sign that all 3 are hovering around the same spot instead of one propelling themselves ahead of the rest.
SC schools are crap all around. Horry County, where Myrtle Beach is within, has some ok ones but overcrowded and underfunded as all things in SC are. So we went the Catholic School route, my wife and I did that and she turned out great, me not so much.
Wait did you say currently in L&D? You are TKPing hard. Our fourth is due in about 5/6 weeks.

We can call this the Ohio State problem. That turned out alright for them.
yeah I can see that argument.
I'm not a coach (nor do I personally know any) so I have no idea how coaches tend to approach these scenarios.
I imagine that if you have 3 guys who are all basically even and one of them is a freshman, you redshirt the freshman. He hasn't had a full year in the weight room and as an 18 year old probably still has room to grow and fill out. For his own health it would probably be in his best interest for him to redshirt. And even though he got here in January he still hasn't completed a full year of college courses. The stress of being the starting QB added to a full course load could have negative consequences for him.
I also think it benefits you to redshirt him if he really is that good instead of risking injury to him. It buys you an extra year to bring another guy up to speed so that when Evans departs you're not scrambling to find a viable option in the event JJ goes down. Imagine if JJ starts this year, gets hurt in week 3, and can't return for the remainder of the season. Let's assume Evans comes in and absolutely lights the world on fire and is getting looks from the NFL. His eyes get big and he decides to declare for the draft. Now you're graduating Motley, losing Evans to the NFL and have a big question mark on the health of your future in JJ. Your best option going into winter workouts is a walk-on in Jack Click and you're suddenly very thin at the most important position on the field.
If it were me, I'd redshirt JJ unless he is absolutely, undoubtedly the best option right now. Let him grow and take care of himself off the field. Keep him healthy and work diligently to find a recruit to bring in and coach up to be the guy after JJ.
All that said, I won't be upset if JJ starts. I think if he does start that means he's clearly the best option we have there and that probably also means that he's going to be pretty dang good. I think our offense will be just fine.

Can she do derivatives yet? If not, she's behind. I recall sometime in the past you made a comment about how you felt the schools in your area were lagging what you saw in Ohio. Do you still feel that way? Doesn't the Myrtle Beach area have some (not all of them) of South Carolina's best schools? I've read that children who are exposed to learning and knowledge and encouraged basically seek and arrive at their own level by the time they are in the third grade, exposure being the operative word here. I, like you, am going through the process too so don't really know. Good luck and hopefully in 2029 tuition will be affordable again.
Currently in labor and delivery while mama gjpvt09 is working out baby #3. The now middle one starts kindergarten in two weeks. Eldest starts 3rd grade. Nope, the emotion never slows down.
We have three QBs fighting for a job, three actual QBs.
So the list of Coach Fuente's failures at Virginia Tech grows:
- Can't Recruit.
- Hasn't won a game.
- Killed the TKP TE meme.
I agree with this in terms of the redshirt for Jackson - I have no data to evaluate what he is doing so I won't touch that.
BUT...
I think Fuente is mixing it up for all of us to get worked up about, but he has an ulterior more coach focused motive. Heck if TKP reacts this way, what are UT, the media, etc. doing? The same.
I think Jackson's potential is starting to climb - he has shown he has the QB gift, now its getting refined. And by throwing him in the mix like that, the QB competition between Motley and Evans gets more intense.
Fuente is testing all three of them and pushing the limits further. Well done Coach!
