It was painful to see the look on Motley's face against OSU as he realized it was then his show. It was even worse to think of it in the context that we had all seen it before vs. UCLA. Motley must have been thinking, "what do I do now?" Leal was no great talent, but somebody owes him an apology. (Sorry to rant in response to your fine post.)

That was my exact thought every time I walked through the door at Champ's.

Isn't Josh Jackson a coaches son? It wouldn't surprise me if he has a better fundamental understanding of the offense than the other QBs. He probably has pretty good form and mechanics, simply because most coaches start repping their kids at young ages and stress fundamentals throughout their lives. His dad has probably given him half a step lead through life and it might all be coming together for him right now.
I'm not surprised and I'm really excited to hear this. We have three QBs fighting for a job, three actual QBs.

What would be great is if everyone and the announcers are calling for Click b/c we've already played 1 & 2 and the score is still running up.
Falling back on CJF comments regarding his offense from the beginning, we need the guy who is most consistent with predictable outcomes to start. Unlike previous offensive schemes, there seems to be less pressure for the QB to be the best player on the O in his scheme. There is no reason to under utilize BH and IF with a young QB who has a ton of upside and is the future but not the most predictable right now. However, if he IS the best chance for us to win, then play him. I am not into this have a rough year this year for a "chance" to win big in 3 yrs. We should have that chance this year! At least relative to the last 3.

Here's the story:
Ita something that happened to me years ago. The building I was running sponsored a book fair and donated the proceeds to local inner-city school (in Kansas city) for "a book about me". I got the prevledge of touring the school and presenting the kids with their books. They really were a cute group of first graders. But, man...I had some trouble with some of the names. My favorte/most embarrassing was a kid named Keavienne. I tried several phonetic ways, mumbling. The teacher smiled at me...but no one stood up. Then this little girl stood up, looked at the book and said "Kevin, that's you". Without thinking I looked at her and said "Kevin! Seriously! KEVIN". Everyone had a good laugh (at my expense).
Been using that ever since for random/obscure references.
Seems like I was validated by some recent posts about it becoming a 3-QB race, I don't doubt that Jackson might not be as polished as Fuente might like (being a young guy), but whispers around town are that he's the real deal

She's not wearing socks, Joe. That's the *actual* color of her feet.
Edit: Really thought that said "...said yes to you wearing those socks." This is not how I wanted my Key Player membership to start.
Damn...that was a good highlight reel...sick accuracy, even when he was chased down. One thing cjf said was that he was getting much better players at this level and he could do a lot more. I kinda like the mystery and surprise cjf brings. He wouldn't select a qb without factoring in wins, he's got to have confidence in whoever he selects.
On Motley..one downside is that he wasn't consistent but has game experience.
On Evans, he has juco experience but will it translate to fbs?
Jj has the biggest upside and potential being fresh and new in Fuentes offense.

I agree with you. Also, fuente said not to read into it too much. I think jj has worked himself into this competition more than winning it. I would rather say he is progressing better than Lawson was, meaning he will likely be a solid future qb. I'd say a solid backup next year and then a starter going forward.
^This. I fully expect that there will be a decline in individual production with the increase in overall production. So that's why I put the numbers there.
