Ugh, this is going to be a long process.

My oldest ,daughter, graduated from Tech in May and moved to Richmond to live with the boyfriend and go to work and grad school. You learn to deal with it over time. My second child, a boy, gets all the wife's anxiety.

I guess in that sense the numbers seem optimistic. But do we ready think we have 5 game ready WRs?

As you know, each QB is worth .25, so when you have two you have .5. That is half, which is less than 1, so you have none. However, when you add another QB you now have .75 (.25 + .25 + .25) to wit, you have more than .5 so you now have 1.

Unfortunately for QB4, his addition is meaningless because you are already have 1 QB.

To me that game will always be the direct antithesis of the 2009 Nebraska game. Basically the game was a blast until the final 2 minutes of agony. The Nebraska game was pure agony until the final 2 minutes of bliss. However the only thing anybody will ever remember from either game is the final 2 minutes.

I trust (like everyone else here so it really shouldn't need saying) that the coaches who seem to know what the heck they are doing, will put the best QB for this team on the field. I do not believe that Bud is as fired up as he seems to be, with this being written off as a year we tank the season with an eye on the long term prospects for JJackson. That being said:

I think there is a little long term planning going on here that the coach is playing out for several different audiences... none of whom include us. First and foremost he is playing to the team to acknowledge that the freshman has worked his way into the conversation and to emphasize to the team that hard work does pay off and he will consider anyone who deserves the merit. Nothing is a given. Second, he is sending a message to the 2017/2018 recruits that the situation at VT is looking very good for the long term with talent at the key position for this offense, so don't believe the chatter that it will be a rebuilding effort for the years following 2016. There is a lot of talk on both sides of the ball about the promising young talent. I don't think this is accidental or coincidental. Also, the focus on the freshman at QB tells 4/5 star recruits that that they can compete for playing time on a top tier team at home in Virginia right off the bat if they work for it. Coach has been trying to get the word out around the 757, Richmond, DVM about his way of doing things as part of the sell to recruits. This sends a strong message that he is serious about what he said. Third, I think he sent a message to the two upperclassmen in the QB battle. This competition for QB is never really over. As the season goes on, no matter who the starter is one week, don't get comfortable as he will always be evaluating who his best option is even week to week. It won't just be an injury that could produce a change. He started a QB his first year at Memphis who had two years of eligibility and the next year sat him in favor of a redshirt freshman who performed better in the fall camp. It could happen again.

With respect to your school work concern (you know a single sentence in your entire comment). I figured college would kick my butt. After that first semester I realized it was doable and I could do a whole lot outside of my studies and still do well. So if I was in JJ's place, school would actually be less of a concern having been able to knock out a semester before my first season.
