Just thought I would share the info that I have about the fact that there doesn't sound like there will be a reveal
I loved watching Milan when I was first getting into overseas soccer, but back when all of the match fixing issues were getting aired several years ago, it got me wondering how genuine any games I watched were. Italian soccer has always been a pretty game to watch, but I've always got that thought in the back of my mind that it could be fixed.

I agree, the current set up only makes sense if you're trying to boost the profile of certain traditional power house programs (FSU, Miami, Clemson, GT). Let's face it, Miami doesn't want to play the Syracuse, Wake, or BC any more than it has to. Everything about league expansion has been manipulated to put the "best" teams on a stage to shine from which schools are in which division to crossover opponents, to where they tried to hold the championship game for however many years in a row (FSU/Miami's back yard). Sadly, by the time one of those swung in our favor (the ACCCG in charlotte), we were coming down off our domination of the league.
Now you have FSU, Clemson, and UNC as potential league darlings (also, "Miami could be BAK this year!!!") so nothing is going to change that in any way hurts the league's chance to put one of them in the playoffs again.
So if we really want to throw some weight around, we need to get back to owning this league now that we have an AD that might actually do something with that clout.

I live in SEC and UT country, and trust me....there is NO buzz whatsoever about this game. Nothing on local sports radio. Nothing. The buzz is about UT and whether they can finally beat Florida. It is a foregone conclusion they will breeze by their first 3 opponents before Florida. That includes us.
It's painful. It sucks. But it's our current reality (edit: in terms of perception).
Hopefully we sneak up on them like we did in the Horseshoe.
They will.
I just hope the team takes us as lightly as the fans do

see, I preferred the white pro-combats to the black ones..but I thought both were pretty cool. It's all a matter of opinion. You may think they're great and others think they suck. Unfortunately, I just don't think we'll ever get everyone to agree that Uniform X is the ultimate. There will always be dissenters.
Fair enough, and I guess that's just my own tastes. But you do make some great points.
As fun as the Warriors were to watch in the NBA this past year, I tended to get disinterested when they were crushing their competition midway through the 3rd quarter. But hey, their games had some of the highest ratings, and they'll probably be even higher with KD in the fold next year.

There's no reason you can't grant FSU/Miami and UNC/NCSU exceptions for this process, and allow everyone else to have 2 or 3 rotating cross divisional opponents per season. And only count games against divisional opponents for standings, with cross divisional record being the tiebreaker, to deal with imbalanced schedules.

# | Teel Time, ACC Athletic Directors to vote on 8 or 9 game conference schedule Friday. one game. out of 7. if you get rid of the cross-over you get more interesting match-ups as a whole. sure FSU/Miami might not play every year but you'll get at least 2 or 3 good games each year instead of just one. Playing the same teams gets boring. Playing different teams adds value. eliminating the cross-over allows for (hold on to your knickers!) TWICE AS MANY different and interesting conference games for each team every year. So in the years you don't have FSU/Miami you might have Clemson/VT and UNC/FSU or Louisville/GT or Duke/Wake or UVA/BC. All of those games would be competitive and interesting to watch. I'd sure as hell watch most of those games. I'm not going to watch Miami/FSU every year...I saw it last year..I can watch it again next year...but if UNC and FSU are going to play I'm interested. I'll turn that on.

Apparently the first time we'll be seeing these jerseys is when we see them on the field or on TV. No early reveal.
I've seen them and I think they're up there in terms of alternates. Just my humble opinion.
I'm going to have to disagree with parts of this. Certainly if VT wins, all the above comes true. But if UT wins, I don't believe it sparks their season and puts them on track for a legitimate shot at the SECCG. Sure it is a big-time match-up on the biggest stage in college football history, but this is much more UT's game to lose. VT will be a big underdog and in the eyes of UT, they are expecting to breeze by us. This goes for the media and talking heads as well. Someone stated earlier that VT's perception has been way down lately, due to the last couple seasons. Start winning and that changes quickly, but SEC will always have its bias and right now, we're just another mediocre mid-tier P5 program.

Dad of 7, Grandad of 4, so I have a little experience in flying with kids. And, I'm a million mile flyer on American alone, so I have suffered through many flights with screaming little ones.
You're absolutely right, it's often the changes in cabin pressure that gets them wailing like a banshee. Kids need to be given a bottle, a binkie, gum, or hard candy...something...at take-off and when the plane is beginning it's descent. It helps tremendously. I generally carry the latter two in my briefcase, and have rescued many anxious parents and the surrounding passengers during flights.
Other than that, duck tape works pretty well, too. /s

I was personally hoping the Ravens would pick him up. Lord knows they needed help in their secondary.
Kam was a holdout last year but I'm pretty sure he caved. Tyrod is working on his contract that he signed taking him to Buffalo before he was named a starter.
I'm not sure if Kam inked a new deal but I'm sure Tyrod is not making QB1 money.

I think less than half of the AD's care what weighs heavier, because they do not believe they can be a playoff team. They may still like the +2 better because they can schedule other P5 in the same boat. Playing 5 teams from NC in a year does not get us respect, a better recruiting footprint, or primetime TV. We get as much from just beating UNC. Our cross-over rival sucks, and any plan to change that is a good one. But the +2 gives us a better chance to separate ourselves from the basketball first schools on the national stage.
I expect it will happen sooner rather than later. With Inter and AC Milan both selling this summer to foreign investment groups, we'll see if the tide turns there.
Italian football is mostly a mess right now though, and Juventus is one of the few well-run clubs at the moment.
