I'm gonna be the guy who brings up that Lawson was a 3 star on Rivals when he committed

Written by a former frat star at South Carolina who always thought he was funnier than he was

your perspective, I am sure there are many that agree with you and many that do not... aren't blogs great!

Click, I really think he could do this in garbage time or worst case scenario. The kid seems to have picked up a lot fast. Would it be pretty or easy, nope, but for a walk on I'm impressed.

just to clarify, his point was next year when we've got Evans #1 and Jackson #2 with Hooker redshirting. I don't necessarily agree, but it seems you were responding to this year where we have Evans, Motley, Jackson redshirting, and McMillian, Bucky, Sam Rogers, and Joel Caleb as former QBs in case we have a Maryland type situation.

But if you believe (and I do) that Jackson was already ahead of Lawson on the depth chart why would you lose sleep over Lawson leaving the program? If BOTH of your "game-ready" QBs go down you bring in Jackson. If Jackson gets hurt you bring in Durkin. Hopefully it doesn't get to that point. Hopefully, we don't get past the second game-ready QB. But I guess you never know.

The format doesn't lend itself to in depth conversation or analysis by posters

I find this so ironic that you posted this, because more times than not when I see your comments on this site, you tend to have a very strong opinion about something or someone and you don't allow anything to change your stubborn mind. You never allow the in depth conversation or analysis by posters change your mind. Any way have a good weekend!

Having 3 QB's ready to play is better than 2.

Urban agrees.

or it could be taken as, "Hey, we're not booting him to the curb to make room for more QBs. We gave him everything we give all our athletes and leaving was his decision"

You can try to read between the lines but there are always more perspectives than you realize. I wouldn't try to take anything generally positive or generally negative from the statement. It seems like a pretty standard, run-of-the-mill type of statement to me.

Saying "we invested significant resources in Dwayne" makes him sound like an ingrate for leaving. It's an unnecessary swipe. Just wish him well and move on.

I think the issue is the way the news broke. IMO 3 should have happened before 1 & 2.

1- Tweet from media member about lawson leaving citing failed drug tests -> when were those reported?
2- Tweet gets corrected from media member but still cited multiple failed drug tests.
3- VT Football makes a comment about Lawson including where he will transfer.

Joe/TKP staff nailed it with the way they released/worded the news.

Lawson was granted his release a day after participating in Virginia Tech's opening practice of the 2016 football season. The Daily Press reported Lawson would have faced a suspension due to multiple drug tests failures during his tenure at Virginia Tech.

Probably right, but it would have been better if he was here. Now, we will have two game-worthy QB's this year while Jackson is redshirting. Next year, we are assuming Jackson, who we don't know that well yet, will be good enough to be the backup while Hooker redshirts.

Having 3 QB's ready to play is better than 2.

Yeah, no reason to include the one sentence that subtext says, "See! We tried, he just kept screwing up!"

Just wish him luck and move on.

wow, talk about an icy reception. "Hey guys, soooo...I changed my mind..."

2 year wait for another ACC school likely takes Miami out of the discussion.
