I've gone back and read that release about 10 times trying to read it in a blaming light, and I just don't see it. It already seems pretty generic. To me, that first line is saying that they did their best not to ignore him or let him slip through the cracks, they gave him the same amount of attention they'd give anybody else. Maybe the phrase "significant effort?" That's the only thing that could be called questionable to me.

If you have never watched rugby, I highly recommend watching Fuji in the rugby 7s. Rugby 7s is a fast paced game. I am hoping that now it is in the Olympics it will grow in popularity in the US.

Edit: Thank you VT_Fencer for the very informative post above!

Meh, Lawson, or anyone playing, should understand they have standards to uphold. No free lunch should be given. So I see nothing wrong with Fuente telling it like it is and releasing the truth. Otherwise you would have board meltdown, if not here then TSL and definitely 247, about something being wrong within the program.

If he was failing drug tests then he should accept the risks associated with it. No sympathy here.

I'm new to TKP but I believe that's good advice you're offering up there and I intend to heed it. Quick Q: since no more BeamerBall.com, where besides TKP can quality Hokie football/wrestling news be found?

I'm old fashioned I guess.

1 - These aren't kids. I sure as hell wasn't at that age. I'm pretty darned tired of calling them that whenever they get what amounts to a paltry penalty for things that often land other adults and even some actual kids in jail.

2 - If I effed up spectacularly at that age, I wouldn't have had any reason to expect those I let down to treat me with any more respect than I did them. I find nothing objectionable in the press release, rather, I think it is fairly nice given the nature of what happened. I do, however, find it objectionable to suggest that if indeed Fuente or others "threw Lawson under the bus", that there is room under the bus for those who tried to help him and found this adult unwilling to change.

3 - Theorizing that something was leaked to the media from VT staff seems every bit as pointlessly speculative as guessing whether Lawson was leaving before he did; or guessing why he was released before the press discovered it. Maybe it was another player. Maybe a friend or family member. Maybe an enemy who happened to know. Or maybe it was indeed VT staff. They are equally possible, but I don't care, and I don't care to guess.

So, I hope this adult figures out that abiding by the rules is a good thing. That the social compact that holds us together depends on it, and that taking ownership of ones own failings is the biggest step to becoming successful person.

Of course having the scissors under the V is embarrassing.

I think its a good sign everytime I watch Snapchat and think 'Dangg thats a dime!, Who was that again?'

Oh. Its Click. Just out there being a 5th string playing his heart out.
