I get that. Its just that the frequency that it was brought up, especially in completely irrelevant topics such as Ellis' commitment, made it annoying. Especially when those people made it seem like a terrible thing if he transferred. It isn't. We'll be fine.

Based on what little I know about you, I'm inclined to believe your POV. That being said, technically, "Multiple" could be 2. Perhaps he failed his second test recently and that lead to this whole deal. Is that completely far fetched?

And I feel that I'm sort of the (in)direct target of Smiff's indignation here. I have a grand total of two (2) posts on this topic. I did not mock anyone. Nor have I seen any real mocking of anyone's opinion. It is also untrue that this pervasive dismissiveness of the Lawson transferring question appears across this entire site; it's on about two threads, maybe a couple of posts each.
I registered my opinion because it was amazing to me that any and all QB news (recruiting, depth chart, spring game, offseason workouts, whatever), over the course of the last year or more, was reflexively met with "well, does this mean Lawson's transferring?" It became knee-jerk reaction by everyone, almost as frequent as Fireman's use of the angry girl responding to any mention of He Who Must Not Be Named or speculation about Drew Harris. It became a meme unto itself. The fact that the discussion popped up yesterday was because fall camp started, not necessarily because anyone had any idea about anything. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
All that said, best of luck to Dwayne Lawson. He's talented and if he can put it all together in the right program, I'm sure he'll be very successful.
That was my guess as well. Closer to home and family for him.
I call BS... he would have been gone after the 2nd fail as long as he was put on drug probation.

I don't think people were dismissing the possibility as much as getting tired of the question and being confused as to how it is terrible news anyway if he can't make moves on the depth chart.
That is not fundamental to my point. The point is, people who speculated Lawson would leave were met with a bevy of reasons why that opinion was invalid, and subsequently mocked over a period of several days for even bringing it up. Not only were those people correct, they almost nailed the timing on the head.

...coming with the players. They want to beat us but we know how to beat them. And our guys take pride in laying down the beatings against that team. All those guys know is failure and a total lack of hope.

Which is not relevant to the speculation of members of the community here and the crap they took for it. They saw pressure mounting and a talented guy stuck in a hard place. They questioned whether he would stay, and their intuition was correct. All the while, you couldn't pass by a thread without someone mocking the question.

Two, it's easy to push the other guy around when your freshmen have an average of two years of development on your opponents freshmen...

LOLUVA will get a bit better this year with simple organization, some (on the field) discipline, and in-game coaching decisions that will look better than they did with the last staff. So I do think they take a step forward this season...
HOWEVER, they will loose a TON of key guys after this season, leaving the team depleted IMO. LOLUVA will take a huge step back in the 2nd year because there is literally no depth anywhere on that team. combine that with an abysmal 2016 recruiting class and I'm not sure any reasonable human being would conclude that the series gains momentum any time soon.
I don't remember it specifically but it was during a fairly recent interview where Fuente said Lawson needed to focusing on how to be a college student. I read that as he needed to mature, learn time management skills, etc.
