He was in the snapchat story yesterday. Must have decided to leave last night or this morning
I'll take DV's for this. There were a lot of people on here mocking other users opinions/questions incessantly. Now you can slowly remove yourself from the dogpile.
other connections I have within the academic athletic world... and no it's not VT connections
LMAO! Bruh, that's just cold!
That is very well possible. Murphy wasn't on our guide, so that could be it.
I remember when he committed and people had him penciled in to going pro in 3 years.
I'm confused on why did he wait until now. Go to Day 1 of Fall practice and then decide leave? His depth chart status hasn't changed in the last 3 - 4 months. If transferring was in his mind, why not do it earlier and try to get to your new school in time for Fall practice?
Regardless, I wish him the best of luck and that he finds success that potentially lands him in the NFL. Just as long as that success doesn't include defeating the Hokies.
Well that sure changes the Contour of this thread.
Probably because a lot of the people that kept bringing up Lawson were obsessing about him for no reason. If he was the starter great, if not, that means there's someone better. He is a good talent, but he isn't the savior of a program like a Tyrod, which is what a lot of those people were acting like.
Is he going to the same JUCO that Henri Murphy is coming from? Tinfoil hat time: Fuente tells them, "you release Murphy from his LOI and I'll send you Lawson"
F-150 isn't nearly as good as F-195
where did you hear/see he might be going to EMCC?
Could be heading to JUCO and possibly EMCC.
Best of luck to him he got the smallest straw it seems like. Not redshirting him last year definitely hurt.
Based on this news, how long do you think it will be til Lawson transfers?
sorry, I've just gotten so used to typing those words I don't know how to stop.
Where are all the pompous and snide remarkers? Your compadres on here called this days ago and you mocked them. Come one, come all. You were wrong and most of you were pretty dickish about it in the process.
I read TSL, Hokiesports and Andy Bitter's article and this one is more in depth covering good stuff that the other guys didn't.
I don't think there was EVER any doubt that this would be the case. Keep 'em coming, Rye!
How great did Click look in those snapchats! Can't wait for him to be named the starter.
Tremendous talent, hope he is successful wherever he ends up.
Don't sleep on Jackson, that kid is gonna be the real deal when its his turn...
Finally people can stop asking.
I guess you could say it just sort of....clicked?
Hope it works out for him. Cant say I'm surprised. If he couldn't beat out Evans now he wouldn't get a look to start until his senior year. And thats assuming he could beat out Jackson too.

# | Hokies Open Fall Camp, Giving Spring Holdouts Chance to Get Back to "Full Speed" Great article. Honestly, I read TSL, Hokiesports and Andy Bitter's article and this one is more in depth covering good stuff that the other guys didn't. Thanks for bringing the best to your followers!
Well this turned out to be prophetic.

If this is true, it isn't shocking. I was one of the few who insisted that, if Lawson wasn't better than Brewer, there was no reason not to redshirt him last year. Chris Durkin outperformed Lawson against Furman, but Durkin was driven right over to HBack. By all accounts (and my own eyes in the spring game), Lawson never grasped the reads of the passing game (and was woefully inaccurate) and even Josh Jackson had passed him by. If they were not going to redshirt him this year, at best he would have been a Wild Turkey QB under Fuente. He had tools that stood out, but quarterback is about more than tools. That is why Chad Pennington had a long NFL career, and Ryan Leaf was the shits.
The commitments of Hendon Hooker and Dejuan Ellis and the performance of Jackson in the spring made this much more possible than any of us could imagine.
