I get where you're coming from, but you're adding an implicit "during my watch" in there on the end of all the things that the Watchman shall do.
Of course there is also the issue of what "until my death" actually means, rendering this entire discussion subjective. We can't unconditionally apply the laws of the real world regarding dying and then coming back (they exist if anyone is interested to look them up). Since we don't have any documentation of what the laws of Westeros are regarding the concept, we can only go by two things: what we do have (my view), and what we assume based on logic or the real world laws (which I'm assuming is the general area of view of anyone arguing the opposing point).
Why has Cersei Lannister always been referred to as Cersei Lannister instead of Cersei Baratheon? Even when her own son, who was king because he was purported to be a Baratheon, announced that "the trial of Cersei Lannister".....would go on without an option for Trial by Combat.
Was she reffered to as Cersei Baratheon in Season 1 before Robert died? Was Catelyn Stark ever referred to as Catelyn Tully after Ned died? Olenna Tyrell is a widow, she's never referred to as Olenna Redwyne.
You are the only person I've seen on any of the GoT boards I read that has argued that Jon Snow is still bound to his Nights Watch vows after his death.

Our issue is very clearly not the population size, but that we don't have the culture around soccer that inspires our best athletes to desire to be great soccer players. People can argue against this because Yedlin is super fast, but he is the exception not the rule. The MLS, while growing in popularity, doesn't pay players like basketball/football, and the overall culture of the US is still focused on other sports. If soccer was our main sport ,and the majority of kids grew up aspiring to be great soccer players, then we would field a much more athletic and competitive national team year in and year out. Simple as that.
Unless they've changed things since '06, the Navy wouldn't allow us off the ship overseas in anything that identified us as American or in the navy. Naturally, we're the only people wearing polo shirts and long pants everywhere we went, automatically identifying us as American Navy. It would have been cool to also were VT gear.

On my honeymoon I got a Go Hokies at literally every place went in Italy, but by far the most remote place in which I got it was Riomaggiore Vernazza in the Cinque Terre region. Was walking by in my VT jacket and heard it from someone sitting down to lunch. Got talking to them, and eventually day down ourselves to find out it was a former VT professor (I want to say it was engineering of some type) and his wife who had spent the last 25+ years in Blacksburg and had just recently retired and were on a long awaited vacation to celebrate.
The exact location, as seen from this picture is under the Yellow and Red square umbrella in the center of the picture that I took on a hike about an hour later.

if you don't mind my asking-where on the green river was this? I'll be spending July 4th in Moab (I live in Tucson) and was unaware there was good fishing in the green (I've been to Moab many times).
As a side note, I drove up to SLC about two months ago for some late season snowboarding and the guy I parked behind at Snowbird had a VT plate. I wouldn't think that finding another Hokie that day would be all that rare, but to park directly behind him? Awesome day, to say the least.
Good! A differing viewpoint supported by logic and evidence spurs the mind. I only really enjoy such discussions regarding fiction, since it's far less vitriolic than real politics/contract law.
