My wife had an aunt and uncle who worked there and could get free passes, so we have gone several times over the last 15 years as the boys grew up. We preferred world over land, though the lines were shorter in CA. Biggest thing to remember is that you are going for good memories with the kids, not to do everything. When they are hungry, eat. When they are tired, nap. When they are hot, cool off. I am always amazed at the parents dragging crying kids around to get their moneys worth. When the kids were the right age to enjoy the characters the character meals are the way to go. No long lines to be rushed through a picture in a minute, and time for real interaction, along with good food. Take the time to read the show reviews, and go to age appropriate ones through-out the day for a break. The 4-6 year old really loved it, while the 2-3 year old took a nap - and yes we planned to go one at his nap time. If you are lucky enough to have rain in the forecast go then if the kids are not real young. You won't mind the water rides with the kids, the lines go away, and everyone should play with their kids rain some time. At about 10-12 old ours started to prefer Universal, so go before then, or do both.

I was wearing a hokie shirt when my mother and I got on one of those hop-on hop-off buses in Tallin, Estonia. As soon as I got on and headed for the second floor, I heard a crowd yell "Go Hokies!" and couldn't believe it so I froze, the bus started, and I almost fell down from shock. I then yelled "screw UVA!" and got quite a lot of cheers.

Still haven't met any Berlin Hokies yet this summer where y'all at?

Dude, those are the few deluded loluva football fans still existing who lost yet another football bet with their Hokie relatives, coworkers or spouses. Doomed to walk the streets of 'hooville in disgrace for yet another long year until foolishly making the same bet, yet another time. Your brotherly chat is seen as yet another painful lash in their sentence. Hee, hee, hee, he chortled in glee.

My wife and I went there for our 3 yr anniversary at end Jan/begin Feb.

Damn, thats pretty harsh dude we did finish in the semifinals of a multicontinental tournament. Youre not going to win em all. Case and point spain. Do I really think spain was worse than portugal or poland this year? No but they limped out of the tournament

I think were we're playing much better and more consistent soccer than when we made our semfinal run in the 2002 world cup

Sitting in minivan in parking lot of daycare hoping the rain lets up so I can go inside and get kids

the UVA fan blog is the one saying it, not BM. Every fan base loves the kids it signs

And thats a fun one! Names I came up with off the top of my head: Baker Mayfield, for some reason I think that BYU started a walk on a couple years ago who was pretty good. Maybe Max Hall? Matt Mcgloin (PSU) and Austin Davis (USM) were both really good. Not sure if I missed anyone notable. Though if he's a running qb he might be able to find a spot at a different position

On my wife and mine 1 yr anniversary, we went up to NYC. I was walking around the nearly completed Freedom Tower (sounds a million times better than the OWTC) wearing my Hokie Swag when a group of folks smiled, waved and shouted "GO HOKIES". One of the best feelings ever. Now, one of the worst feelings, walking around C'ville (and this is on numerous occasions), seeing folks decked out in Hokie swag, you say "nice [clothing apparel]" or "go hokies" and not even getting a returned look. WTF IS THAT SHIT!?

Great write up. My wife is a Disney fanatic but frankly I could do without the place. I think Disneyland is superior to Disneyworld, but her entire family thinks I am crazy when I say that. So at some point I am going to have to plan this vacation with family. Kids are currently 4 and 2.

We have a bit of a trial run this week as we are spending 4th of July week in Carlsbad, CA, and have a 2 day pass to LEGOLAND. If the kids can handle that, Disney might be on deck for next year.

I kind of want monthly write ups of what Fireman is up to now. Like an X's and O's of random stuff he's up to.

lol exactly.... some fans just wear their orange and maroon shades a little bit too much

Truely magical time, go in early December when they have the Christmas decorations up and you can buy special night time tickets. They make it snow on Main Street during the parade. Even my 1 year old was mesmerized.

Just below the Flaming Gorge Reservoir dam. Northeast corner of Utah. Lots of driftboats, but good shore access and an inordinate number of big fish. I caught nice rainbows, cutthroats, and cutbows up to six pounds.

If they only do 13 more episodes I hope they do it quicker than the normal season. So instead of season 7 next april and season 8 in april 18, maybe season 7 next april and season 8 in the fall or something and ruin The Walking Dead. Just would feel weird dragging it out.

This 1000%. Having young kids makes everything great, you get to see stuff through there eyes and it makes things magical all over again. Always make the time and spend the money on your kids because they are only young once...Oh and of course make sure they root for the good guys and know how to do the Hokie Pokie

Anyone commits to Ole Miss "How much is he getting paid?"

2-3* recruit commits to you: "he's underrated and has a huge ceiling!"
4-5* recruit commits to you: "he's the best player at his position/in the country/ever!"

2-3* recruit commits to rival/any other school: "meh, he's probably not that good"
4-5* recruit commits to rival/any other school: "he's overrated and had serious flaws, we didn't want him anyways!"

(wash, rinse, repeat)
