I agree that we could see a heavy dose of both QBs in the Liberty game. I also wouldn't be at all shocked if we only saw one QB even in a blowout. More reps of live action can't be a bad thing and ahead of the Tenn game there is a good chance Cornelsen/Fuente want their starter for that game getting as many snaps as possible to get comfortable with the offense.
It also wouldn't surprise me if we don't see a vanilla offense (though I fully expect to) if you submit to the theory that the more we show Tenn the more they have to plan for. If you overload them with info they may lose track of the details. Try to do too much and you won't do anything well. But I'm excited to see how Fuente conducts his business. I'll be watching both games very closely to see how he attacks them.

I think it's worth stressing that while Motley struggled at times last year, it was in an offensive system that decidedly did not play to his strengths. By all appearances, Fuente's system is much better suited for his skill set, I think he could have a much higher ceiling than people give him credit for. Though I think Evans will win the job, I would feel fairly safe about Motely as a backup, and if he were to win it outright, I'd still feel pretty good about our chances this season.

January 3, 2000: Sugar Bowl: VT vs FSU (National Championship): At my parents house, watching on the couch. In the 8th grade, just warming up to liking ginger ale, not yet knowing that bourbon when mixed with it is a glorious thing.
November 1, 2003: Miami vs VT: Again at my parents house in MD, being an all around loser of a high school student.
December 4, 2004: VT vs Miami: in my dorm room, Slusher wing, room 406, chugging Popov vodka and sprites. It was the end of the semester and my options for liquor and mixers were limited, don't judge me.
November 5, 2005: Miami vs VT: very top of the south end zone shooting coaches film, pretty sweet game until it started.
September 8, 2007: VT vs LSU: again, top of the south end zone, but this time in Death Valley being taunted by LSU students for being "Tiger Bait". Also, that trip home was one I will never forget, team plane needed repairs made before taking off back to Roanoke, between sitting on the buses and the actual flight home, it was complete silence for give or take 8 hours after the game.
November 26, 2011: VT vs LOLUVa (38-0, bro): Hard Times in Arlington, 7 bourbon's deep, drooling pick up lines to a hot blonde who I just met that day, ended up marrying her. Actually, now just realizing this was a pretty significant day in my life, you know because it was when I realized truly how god awful UVA football is.
Really a competent Commenwealths attorney would point out the law says its in your car it's yours. I've charged 5 people in a car for a small bag of coke and everyone of them were convicted of possession.

I am sure that they got the best lawyer that was also a booster of Alabama appointed to them and that lawyer made a strong argument regarding who and how often the vehicle the items were found in were used by people other than the two being charged, since it does sound like none of the items were found directly on the individuals. This puts the onus on the state of Alabama to prove that the two in question had brought those items into the vehicle and which of even those two were responsible for which items. Two players could even play the game of he said, he said. Each one claims no knowledge and indicates it must be the others stuff or someone else's. I am not surprised by this result of all the possibilities. Especially when its Alabama football on the line.

Motley deserves more respect than this.
What about the Motley section do you disagree with? That he faced some long odds sticking at QB, especially given our penchant for giving QB/ATHs "shots at being a QB" and then quickly changing them to other positions? That he's had to roll with two staff changes and has stuck through it? Or was it "he went 3-3 as a starter, struggled with accuracy, and didn't provide enough with his legs to make up for it?"
The first two are really impressive and I feel like Brian's article did a good job of conveying that. The third point is....well, to put it plainly, the truth. I know the entire offense struggled during those 3 games he lost as a starter (see: Pitt) but his QB play ranged from good to outright awful.

"stolen gun" was returned to owner or owner agreed that he let them "borrow" the guns ... a nice check probably was involved and its over.
Last season Motley started the easier part of our schedule (Furman, Purdue, ECU, and some ACC games) and Brewer the harder part (OSU and meat of the ACC schedule). Despite the tougher competition Brewer still played better. Obviously Motley was learning and could be better this year especially under the tutelage of Fuente and Cornelsen. However, based on his performance last year I am hoping Evans or Lawson becomes our starter and Motely continues as a solid backup.

Decided to read some of the recent tweets or retweets or whatever they are. Mostly hokies cheering him on with some minnesotta and an iowa state fan or 2. The one duke fan had a profile picture of I believe Greg Paulus, and just said "go duke". Pretty sure I would have crossed duke off my list after that if I was Quran.

I don't think Fuente is going to have a dual QB system, but I think we may not have a clear cut starter going into game 1. I think we will see both play considerable time vs. Liberty, and probably with a very vanilla gameplan. I think we see the full offense unveiled vs. Tennessee, and will probably find out who our starter is then.
Was it either of the two who were arrested involved cars though? A decent attorney will bring up the histories of anyone associated with the vehicle especially if Robinson and Jones were not the owner, would likely present evidence that the gun wasnt stolen if they can, and also question why the two other men in the car were not charged while these two were. Stolen gun was found under the seat that Robinson was sitting in. The other gun involved was found in the lap of "Hootie" but it sounds like it was his gun and Louisiana allows for open carry since the vehicle was not being operated. They also have some of the slackest laws in terms of ownership and have no requirements for a license to open carry. Same can be said of their laws surrounding possession of less than a gram of marijuana. I didnt expect originally to see all the charges dropped but I never expected them to see a conviction on anything close to a felony. This just takes it a step farther, although it also means that the charges could be refiled if new evidence is discovered.
