I personally think it's a shame that coaches and admin that actually take player discipline seriously and don't cover up crap like this don't get more credit. It helped cost March Richt his job at UGA that he handled things right.

Instead, they recruit the thugs to win games and increase their profits. I'm sorry, but the kids that got football scholarships but were thugs when I graduated, we all knew who and what they really were. It's not hard to tell. Would be nice if the recruiters and coaches at the college level would take notice and stop giving those idiots scholarships.

Editted to add - not all the scholarship athletes were thugs. I'm not saying they all are. It's just that the rest of us students, teachers, staff, etc., knew who the thugs were, athletes or not.

That would be the right thing, which is why I don't have faith it will happen.

I don't think so. Unless the coaches and AD have written proof they presented the problems/situations and were told to ignore it, they are get axed as well. This is too much of a hot button issue/media storm to let them have a pass.

I think Starr and other "admins and staff" will be thrown under the bus and coaches and AD will be kept.

To be completely fair to Wondo, that is an extremely tough finish. Takes it off a half volley, Courtouis is just rushing out at him, not the best of angles, and he misses. it's not that it was a sitter.

I'm not a fan of him on the national team. I think he is incredible in MLS where defenders aren't exactly world class and he can outsmart and get himself in great attacking positions. But in CONCACAF which is very physical, and in the World Cup you can't play him. Granted, I think he's last on the pecking order here, and I'm not sure Jordan Morris would have seen much of the field behind Wood/Dempsey/Zardes, but I get why Klinsman called him up.

Not really. They're practically playing for a .5 position right now with Mexico, US, and Costa Rica essentially locks for the three CONCACAF positions, and still have to go through the likes of Honduras and Panama to get there. Would benefit the Caribbean teams I think. If that did happen, I'd like to see the Caribbean and Oceania teams play it off for the one berth.

Oh for sure. Second name on the team sheet for me. Maybe Chandler slides to the left back, and Johnson can push higher up the midfield and be able to support him defensively, but that's playing with fire.

Briles will either be forced to step down or get fired IMO.. there's going to be a lot more information aired out sooner or later.

Brian, I heard on the radio this morning about your promotion and new once-a-week on-air spot and just wanted to say congratulations. You an Wes make a good team.

Scheduling a home and home with a PAC-12 school is just logistically tough because of the distance. I think sticking with the Big 10 is a good strategy. Leave the long distance opponents for bowl games.

Here's what I found:
1938 11-0 Won Orange
1940 10-1 Lost Sugar
1950 11-1 Won Cotton
1951 10-1 Lost Sugar
1967 9-2 Lost Orange
1998 13-0 Won Fiesta

Total national championships claimed 6

Of the 6 titles claimed, 4 were of the leather helmet variety, and three were in years with season ending bowl defeats.

6 national titles???
