As an ASU alum, I was extremely pissed when I found out that they had moved it to a Thursday night. A lot of Moutaineers (the good kind) we planning on making the treck to Neyland. I had already made plans with a lot of college friends to make a weekend of it. Now we all had to cancel. It's a crappy situation. I'll be @ Bristol, tho!
Why wait until Thursday?
Based on the entire lineup, I feel like we really got a good deal this time around.
In spite of the wrongful and disappointing ending (yes, it was a catch, or at least close enough so there's no way in hell that the call on the field should have ever been overturned), and some weird plays (WTF was that fake punt?), that was a great game to experience. It was a heartbreaker, but VT fans represented.
I don't think anyone would argue that against Tennessee. They have absolutely been a great program for basically a century(take away the last decade). In Division 1, Tennessee is the 9th winningest football program of all time. That doesn't just happen. It takes years and years of success. Heck, we are sitting pretty at 15th in Division 1 and I'm damn proud of that. None of that is possible without Frank Beamer and the work he put it in over the years. It's a testament to both teams that they are as on high that list as they are. I'm just hoping for a great game by our Hokies and a win would be pretty awesome too.

If you're looking for a brooding, serious crime fighter in red, might I direct you to Daredevil, season 2 now available on Netflix. Seriously, the goofy enthusiasm he was jabbering with during the ENTIRE airport fight scene was awesome and the best adaptation of Spider-Man I've seen. Yes, 2+ hours of it might get annoying, but they know how to dilute it. I mean, they knew we couldn't take 2+ hours of Cap's righteous do goodiness, so they sprinkle in all the other characters and lots of scenes with NO Cap.
And I would say if he reaches 70% of his performance from Civil War in his own movie, he will have easily topped Maguire.

They literally schedule down the line ACC vs Big Ten based on the conference standings the previous year. The big question was how the ACC was going to handle Louisville, as we easily could have left them out because of their ineligibility last year. Had they been out, we'd have been playing Ohio State, but they're in, so they get Ohio St, and we get Mich... everyone else below us falling into place.
I feel like this is a good sign for the way the program is being perceived. I know they try and schedule somewhat even matchups, and the fact that we are matched with Michigan and not Northwestern is encouraging.
(Disclaimer: I don't actually know how good UM is supposed to be next year, but I do know they have made the tournament before, something Northwestern has not done.)

That's all I'm saying, were fringe blue blood. In the 90s you could probably count us in that group, the past 15 or so years have pushed us on the edge. We're still, as a whole, a pretty dominant football team in the toughest conference, and still have national recognition. Techs had a heck of a run under Beamer, would Tennessee have done as well, even the past few years in the ACC? Maybe, or most likely with slightly fewer wins (we've had some pretty bad teams). But as they say, you can't always help what conference you're in. Still one of 2 teams to never win less than 5 games in a season, and despite a decade of 6-7 win seasons still 12th in wins when we were top 10 going into our slide.
As for Bran being responsible for deaths, a whole lot of people would still be alive if he'd just listened to his mother and stopped climbing walls. His tally is a lot higher than those killed in this episode.
Thanks for the heads up! Looks a little smoother than Zach with a little more bounce as well. Very aggressive attacking the rim. If he has the work ethic and heart that Zach does, Seth could be a great player for us.

Some theories involve Bran making the Mad King "Mad"... It makes more sense, and fully explains TER's hesitancy if he too learned Bran's lesson the hard way, and his cost, given the assumption that he is also Bloodraven (which people insist is true, but I haven't actually seen evidence of, any help peeps?), is his brother, the Mad King.
Usually, even in the toughest groups, there's a must win game, must draw game, and "we'll take what we can get" game. Unfortunately the US gets the hardest group opponent first in Colombia, making this pretty much a "must draw" game. And while the next two opponents are not close to Colombia, I'm not so sure I want to play either of them. Costa Rica and Paraguay have historically stingy defenses and "park the bus" strategy. The expected result in both of those games has to be draw, although the US will have to win one to advance. If the US and Colombia draw, I could easily see a scenario that puts the Costa Rica-Paraguay winner through, and the US out if they can't convert vs CR or Paraguay.
Oh boy. I can see where this is going to go from here. I agree that Tennessee's history is indeed impressive and I would place them just outside of blue blood status IMO. That's reserved for teams such as Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, and Nebraska. I just hope both teams show up and play a good game. After watching the NBA playoffs so far this year, I'm ready to watch some actual competition.

"Historically dominate," assuming you meant historically dominant, cool story bro. UT has played 22 more games than VT, has a winning percentage of .680, and thats good enough for 12th overall. VT has played 1222 games, started playing ONE year later than UT (VT- 1892, UT- 1891), and has a winning percentage of .606, which is good enough for 23rd overall. None of that distances your team from ours, respectfully, so we aren't likely to accept it as somehow "above" thursday" games.
Championships? Yeah sure, you win there. CLAIM 6 national championships, 16 conference championships. VT has 10 conference championships. Did anyone mention we were started as a land-grant MILITARY institution? Compulsory Corps participation was dropped in the 60s. More with less, in less time IMO. How was UTs last decade? Ours? I hope its a good game, and wish your team good luck man. -I almost went to UT, but am absurdly glad I didn't, the fans are as high and mighty as UVA fans, maybe we can make this game an annual rivalry and have simultaneous Decades of Dominance?
Coldhands is likely not Benjen (at least in the books), but that rider may well be one of them.
As for Robb legitimizing Jon, it wasn't shown on TV, and it was never actually explicitly done in the books. But it seems like a convenient thing that might pop up around episode 7/8.
