And he just declared for the NBA Draft, which he is allowed to do, as he is 19 and over a year out of high school.
Personally, I'm waiting for the helmet flip. Hit a homerun, flip your bat, flip your hat, and strut around the bases making belittling comments about the opposing pitcher. Either that, or start pulling off T.O./Ochocinco-like celebrations (i.e. hide cell phone under 1st base; sharpie in sock sign the bat and hand it to a fan).
Well played sir.
Firefly/Kaylee gif.
Did we just become best friends?
In reference to this brouhaha being brought back up...

same here
Yeah OK Polly....I don't believe that you believe that
This video is from the 5th practice. They just posted it Saturday.
Word is Lawson overslept a 6-7am QB meeting and was conditioning during practice instead of taking snaps.
Actually the original subject of this thread was about how I didn't see Lawson on snapchat at all on Saturday. Right as I posted it I found a Twitter video from Saturday with him in it. So he may have overslept and made it to practice late.

They also pay out more I'm sure in salaries etc.
Been voting for the past half hour or so and the CAPTCHAs are starting to change while I'm typing in the box. Everyone put on their tinfoil hats, there's a conspiracy afoot.
reporters complaining on social media in unprofessional manner,
And I contend that except for AB chilling at home feeling the need to chime in with his #HotTake, none of what the others posted is bad at all, one was a running time of how long Buzz had been cloistered with the team, which is something we would have liked to know anyway, and Barber tweeted a pic of his dog with something about how the dog was the real victim of the night.
Tell me though how that in any way changes my point? They had their choice. Stay or go.
Because it punches a big hole in your narrative that they did nothing but sit and complain about something they should have accepted and not told us about.
Everyone has been there in their own job, however unlike others I suspect most of us don't complain about our job on social media whilst doing that job.
Except that gets to the heart of what the media is supposed to do. They are supposed to give us as good a picture as possible of a situation we dont get to see ourselves or hear from people we might not get to. And I am glad that they spoke about how the night went. It is part of giving an honest accounting of the game, and that includes Buz calling an audible without consulting anyone and throwing everyone(the teams, the press, the VT press, the facilities crews) night into disorder because he thought it was called for. Most of us will never get to spend much time with Buzz to really get to know him, so hearing the most real time and unfiltered account of how he runs the program is important even when it is him doing unpopular stuff just as it is when he does popular stuff like the preseason National Anthem talk.
So long as he keeps winning I am all for Buzz keeping to the formula that got him here, with all the eccentricities included, but if he stumbles then it can quickly become a liability.
I almost shed a tear at the Beamer ending.
Only a couple hours left, if anyone has s few spare minutes to vote before going to bed .. it might be the difference between winning and losing
Beautiful. I love basketball and our other sports teams but good lord. Hokie Football is life.
I have focused primarily on the following: reporters complaining on social media in unprofessional manner, AB complaining far worse than the lot, and his sense of entitlement. Yes, I have not gone through a detailed account of the reporters time. Tell me though how that in any way changes my point? They had their choice. Stay or go. Ultimately whether they waited in the room the entire time, left and came back, spent 45 minutes in the toilet throwing up last night's enjoyment... makes no difference to my point. The job is to stay and report the news, otherwise leave. Yes it sucks it takes more time than you want. Everyone has been there in their own job, however unlike others I suspect most of us don't complain about our job on social media whilst doing that job.
So grossly oversimplified or not it makes no difference.
Does anyone in Chicago care about Northwestern basketball enough to add value though? As far as I can tell it hasn't benefitted them with any Chicago recruits. Even if being in the B1G is enough of a boon I would think that Penn State, who has a far larger fan base that reaches many metro areas, and Iowa, with a larger fan base and more basketball success, would be more valuable.
man...those scenes with Beamer really hit the feels.
That was all over the place, but I think mostly meant to be a jab at Lefty?
FURNTE
WRESLING

I'm thinking he's already there
Preseason trailers...

Manu has been a snoozer since lvg took over
As much as I love the hype. It gonna be hard not seeing CFB leading our guys out the tunnel on gameday

Just saying that reports of Lawson being detached or not focused toward the end of last season might have something to do with the raw deal he got with his redshirt being completely blown for no reason. Of course him missing the meeting/practice this weekend is not good if true, and he's ultimately responsible for his own actions, but the chatter we heard toward the end of last year about him not taking practice very seriously comes as no surprise given how his situation was handled. And I fault Lefty a lot for that. If he wasn't ready to see the field, why remove the shirt and have him run a hand full of plays when Chris Durkin was more than capable of doing the same, had already 'shirted, and had been in the system for a year longer? I just think the hype placed on Lawson by the staff as the future of the program was unfair, and then wasting a year of eligibility probably made him feel pretty rough and resentful. And I don't think he developed as a QB under Lefty any more than he already was when he arrived. I'm not surprised how Fuente commented when he was first hired that he really wanted to take the pressure off of Lawson and help him just adjust and learn the position.
