I have a contempt for a lot of the fans that interact with Bitter on Facebook, Twitter and his mailbag. They represent some of the worst uninformed fans out there.

Bitter was complaining about it and wasn't even there!

What I didn't like about that exchange from Bitter was that he was taking an opportunity to pile on Buzz and VT. That was clearly anti-VT rhetoric, going after Buzz for magical post-game pep talks that never work....when Bitter didn't even have a horse in the race. (then the egg on his face when the pep talk did actually work)

I don't need the media covering VT to root for us, but it sure as hell is nice when they don't actively look down their noses at the fans. Berman is a clear troll, he despises VT fans and their coaches. I doubt Bitter's VT experience is very positive at this point. You can tell from his mailbag questions that he has quite a bit of contempt for our fanbase.

I appreciate that it's tough sledding for a beat writer these days, but when you get snooty with your fanbase, it's going to get harder, not easier.

I missed a few early morning things in college. There were consequences, but nothing I could not overcome by working harder. I hope he and all the players get the message. Not the end of the world. Hopefully a turning point if needed, or additional motivation if an honest mistake. Being late is not and should not be a crime. It should not be acceptable within the program, but not reason for judgement from those on the outside.

The limit is definitely on mobile devices. It doesn't seem to matter where I access the article from on my phone (facebook or safari) the "you've read your 16 articles for this 30 days" pops up in both places. I might have to try the incognito mode or a different mobile browser.

Yea because punishment workouts are frowned upon by the NCAA.

conditioning during practice

Is that what the kids these days call "doing laps so that you don't make that mistake again?"

Lawson missed 6am QB meeting...

He was at practice just was doing conditioning drills on the side while his QB Brothers were getting reps in.

if you can get paid chasing your professional dream why not do it?

I remember one time when I was a sophomore I actually got interviewed on the Drillfield by some news outlet that was actually doing an entire story/segment on the wind.

My personal favorite "the wind is swirlyyyy". All I could think is "you have NO idea James. Welcome to the Burg"

I wouldn't necessarily call this season disjointed, per se, but there seemed to be a LOT of filler. I think the producers were working towards Negan, so the whole season wound up being a means to an end. There was a lot of meandering, and though it made sense, I think you could have cut about 60% of it and ended up with Negan's reveal in the midseason premiere, which would have made things so much more interesting in the remainder of the season.

Re: midseason premiere, while I thought that was an awesome episode, is anyone else getting burnt out on shows doing these long midseason hiatuses? It seems to me that we're dragging things out by having lots of downtime, then dragging out the show with filler during the episodes once they return. It seems like this is happening more and more as networks try to capitalize on a few good shows that they have. To me, the long breaks kill continuity. Sure, it builds anticipation, but I'm wondering if the price paid is worth it.

I'm on board with this. There are several logical reasons for this (both "in the show" logic and the realities of running a show that needs to convince viewers to stick around)

Negan's dialogue seems to indicate it wasn't Carl or Rick. As you mentioned, Glenn and Maggie would be much easier to control with both of them alive vs. just one.

It's safe to assume Eugene gave up some information after he was captured and worked over. Possible that Negan knows his technical prowess? And that he could certainly be useful in that way.

Signs point to Daryl. Dwight would have already shared with Negan how dangerous he could be. And he has no direct tie with another member of the group from a leverage standpoint. Aaron is another possible option for this reason as well.

As owner of the video, I feel that you need to explain to my boss and co-workers why i just ran through our glass entry way to the building.

Chills.

It's seemed excessive for me since Season 4. I get that there's money to be made, but it ruins the show. Every time it feels like the episode picks up pace, there's a commercial and it ruins the entire feel. I'm going to start next season watching at 9:30 because after all the commercials it usually ends up finishing at 10:00 anyway.

This entire season felt disjointed to me though. So it's probably just me.

I think the real test to determine if he is eligible for NBA is to see if the school allowed him to attend prom.

My high school would not allow anyone 19 years old or over to attend prom. It's a failproof system.

In his eyes why woudn't he go pro where he can be coached by the best coaches in the world who won't be limited by 20 hours of contact per week with him? And get paid a lot more at the same time?

Its really common for basketball players to do this

Yeah, youd think someone who clearly has a passion for VT football and film making wouldnt be so blunt at calling out the only people who would have access to spread his work or have the ability to hire him down the road...
