Post hoc is one of the easiest fallacies to spot for most people, and one of the first that's taught in a logic class. My 11 year old daughter is good at spotting post hoc fallacies.
A lot of people have more problem recognizing a cum hoc fallacy, because they seem more intuitive. If events are coincident, we tend to group them together cognitively and the association is often subconscious. You can preach correlation doesn't imply causation all day, but actually seeing it in practice is harder.

I know they had tremendous respect for him but I really hope they are buying into what is being taught now. I love coach Gray but hes gone. I don't really want to hear his name brought up in every interview with someone is the secondary anymore. maybe it was the questions being asked.

Smash mouth, wear you out offense with OL that were going to move you off of the ball every snap and we were going to make you feel like you'd been in a battle when the game was over. Sadly we lost that identity and our OL hasn't been the same for quite some time.
I'm hopeful as well that the offense now is something that isn't going to leave us fans scratching our heads and will help sell itself to recruits in the future with it's results.
Not sure I agree with the D being on the field a lot longer. Even with how poor our offense was our TOP was not bad. Even if the new offense is running plays much faster i'd expect them to have longer more sustained drives and not as many 3 and outs as we are accustomed to.

Not sure how football translates to that, but my wife will be happy at least.
Personally, I don't expect to be blown away. Just hoping we see a consistent level of play from that position. I'd be fine with average qb play and hopeful that our running game is a strong point again.

And the offense, with a focus on running, ball control, eating the clock, was at least partly in place to help the defense.
All of that is out the window now, and Foster has some major adjusting to do. As fans, we need to come to grips with the fact that top 10 (statistically) defenses may be a thing of the past. Our D is going to be on the field a LOT longer, but if our offense can rack up points, I think we can all live with the new reality. =)
dunno makes perfect sense to me. When you have all this change going on (new offensive minded coach, new OC, a bevy of quaterbacks we've never seen play meaningful downs), it's going to be a little bit of a let down to find out the best option is someone who is a known entity. That said, I hope the guy blows us away come fall. Whether the guy is Motley, Evans, or Joe-Bob that Bud runs into in the Walmart...

I am also looking forward to the up tempo offense as well. In years past the D did not get a rest because of 3 and outs, hopefully now it will not be getting a rest because of quick scoring drives...

Yeah I hate that. "Virginia? That's a northern state." Really?? Do you know geography or history at all?? And they still consider KY to be in the south yet it's just as "north" as VA is.

I know everyone was a part of the more intense morning practices. I'm interested to see how this change in conditioning and speed affects our defense that always aimed to be 'fast'.
It's more than just changing I addresses. I've tried that and it still says my vote has been recorded. I think it's something to do with the site's cookie settings.
Locker room is nice, but I think we all agree he deserves more. I'm still pushing for the new tradition of 'The Beamer Walk' down Beamer way.
