This is a fantastic article all the way around, hats off to TSL.
So proud of the team this year and what they accomplished and are poised to accomplish in the future. Dresser, St. John and Ziddick really did a great job this year and hopefully next year will be even better as I really hope we can finally break through with at least 1 NC.
Now on to the Iowa controversy, I think it is really sad to see Brands dodging us know and being so shady when he left. He had just came on the last year I was at VT and I was ecstatic based on the fact he was a world champ and olympic champ as well. I had also met him and his brother while at a wrestling camp at Iowa in 1997 where they were still training and everyone I met out there were class people especially Gable who had our squad over to his house for a cookout after one of the sessions that week. We got to see the legendary dungeon and talk to a lot of the wrestlers who signed all sorts of stuff for us. Needless to say I have always been a huge Iowa fan ever since, so overall the way he left while I hated it for VT was always where I saw him ending up. However the way he supposedly dodged us over the years and supposedly actively campaigned against facing us has really infuriated me as the whole point of wrestling is to compete against the best. I really hope he finally agrees to a dual with us as its better for both programs to wrestle each other than not. I think it definitely makes him and Iowa look weaker if they are dodging competition like us and PSU.

I'm really excited about where we are. We are just in two new eras: Football Coach Turnover Era and People Actually Might Want Our Basketball Coach Era. We haven't been through either of those in like....ever.

If I had to pick the top 3 spots I could see Buzz leaving us for, OU is on that list.
If I had to pick the top 3 spots I could see Foo leaving us for, OU is on that list.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

1. Gumby's was THE. SHIT.
2. According to the transitive property, I'm no longer a "young'un". That can't be right.
3. Never trust a fish taco joint more than 50 miles from an Ocean.

Just got this in the mail. I had thought that these helmets were black, but close up in the light, they appear to be a really dark maroon topped with high speckle maroon flecks. Really needed a little pick me up today and this definitely fit the bill.

His response to the question about Mack Brown's mispronunciation was perfect:

"When you've won a national championship, like Coach Brown has, you can do whatever you want."

Before diving into the actual facilities themselves, it's worth taking a quick look at the sports that the ACC sponsors. On the men's side, there are 13 sponsored sports while there are 14 sponsored sports on the women's side. For various reasons, not every ACC school participates in every sport.

On the men's side, the 13 ACC-sponsored sports are:
Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Fencing, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field (Indoor), Track & Field (Outdoor), Wrestling

On the women's side, the 14 ACC-sponsored sports are:
Basketball, Cross Country, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Rowing, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field (Indoor), Track & Field (Outdoor), Volleyball

One thing to note about these sports - fencing in the NCAA is a coed sport with teams having men's and women's squad. Semantics, but still something to know...

In addition to those lists, there are a number of sports not sponsored by the ACC but are fielded as a varsity sport at ACC schools - those will be highlighted when appropriate throughout this series.

I get the feeling that Fuente is a under promise - - over deliver kind of guy. I want him to scream from the rooftops that this team is going to be better than most think this year, but I fall back on the question, what good does that do him or his team this early in the tenure?

Not a response to this specific comment, but have been thinking about this for a while. Kind of depressing that when vibes are good and there is a renewed positive and energetic outlook in Blacksburg all we see is the next shoe to drop.
