My only complaint about Mellow is they don't sell a slice for one person to eat lunch by themselves, at least the one in Charleston.
Also, a national podcast with a significant following just talked about VT football, and only VT football, for 45 minutes. I feel positively about that.
FTR, I truly believe if he went to Tech he could very well not be what he is today. He got all the freedom he could've hoped for at Davidson.
The complaints stem more from Dell singling us out because it makes you wonder where he stands with his alma mater and if Greenberg tarnished that or not. I don't believe so but again he could've simply referred to the recruitment process as a whole.
I like to think all the college rejection helped fuel his motivation to become the dominant player he is today. Is he the same player if he plays for VT or Kentucky or Duke? Maybe? I mean his brother played for Duke...I am happy for his current path in life for maybe an alternate timeline of Steph Curry playing at VT doesn't end the same way. With our basketball luck he would have been injured at Tech or something.

I can understand Dell's disappointment with us not offering and why he is still focusing on that, because if you know your kid is going to be a star, and you were a star yourself, you'd hope more than anything that he would continue the family legacy at your alma mater, and it must have crushed him to not be given what he thought was a legit chance at VT.
That being said, UNC, Duke, NCSU, Wake, and UNC Charlotte (remember, Charlotte was in the dance fairly often back then) passed on him when they had decades worth of in-state scouting to see how good he was. Don't see anyone blaming those schools for their miss. Charlotte, of all places, would be the biggest WTH, because he lived in Charlotte and played for Charlotte Christian, so they had plenty of opportunity to see how good he was, and even they didn't offer a scholarship.
But nope... VT is the one who missed out on Steph.
Love listening to Coach talk about his decision to come to Blacksburg in terms of the intangibles around 10min. He sounds like a real Virginia Tech guy and we could potentially be looking at a long-term, successful coaching administration. I love Buzz, but I get a completely different vibe from him. I think Buzz is gone in a year or two, but Fuente seems like he will be very happy to dig deep roots and raise his kids in Blacksburg.
I realize this might be sacrilegious to some, but I went back to Blacksburg to visit an old friend and he introduced me to Mellow Mushroom. Folks, if you can, please give it a try. We ordered four small pizzas and they were great. It's located on Main St, where Backstreet Pizza used to be. Enjoy! ;-)
Dammitall... I saw the thread header and thought he was discussing some new recruit that declared to us this week that we hadn't talked about, yet.
What I don't understand is why Dell is so hellbent on continuing the narrative against VT. "Virginia Tech" didn't offer? No, Seth Greenberg didn't offer, and now no one wants him as a coach.
I had the same thought recently. I bet he can't wait to have some "X's and O's" questions.
Love listening to the guy talk. Just feel bad he's had to answer the same 50 questions for the last four months. Can't wait until some football happens and we get some new talking points.
From what I remember, he only had 3 scholarship offers from D1 schools - Davidson, Winthrop and VCU.
Remember that 3rd quarter he had against Duke in 2012? That was one of the most dominant quarters I have ever seen from a VT defensive end. He just straight sucked the soul of each and every one of the Duke offensive lineman.
There's a reason he ended up at Davidson instead of a power conference team.
Nobody gave him a scholarship offer. But lets ignore that tidbit, and continue the mantra that VT dropped the ball because only they didn't make the offer. In fact, if I remember correctly, our walk-on offer was still better than any offer he got from almost any other power conference program, but lets not let that get in the way of the narrative.
As much as our social media has improved in the past 18 months or so, it would be exponentially better if James were hired by VT. I can't imagine that twitter war he and Harbaugh would inevitably have.
How bout last year...when we won the division? You're not a sore Cowboys fan are you?

Sorry, I was test running my TKP bottle opener last night and had enough trouble posting one picture. Went back and did some investigation. At the end of the day you are still trashing a college player. I disagree with you but enjoy TKP and have a leg.
Who cares!? Steph Curry would've attended and graduated from Tech (& let's face it, in EVERY other alternate timeline and multiverse he did)!
Yep, the reality is he proved everyone associated with basketball wrong except for Bob McKillop.
And that was the only game I could make it to last year...
And to think, some say Beamer doesn't care about recruiting.
I'm hoping he walked out of that classroom while handing out no less than 3 scholarship offers for 2027
