I don't think that's fair for what was essentially a new franchise (to DC residents at least). You can't expect people to instantly be die-hard fans, even if they want to be. It takes a few years to build up good will and a sentimental attachment, and a few good years to cement a legitimate fanbase. It would be a little weird if people were so gung-ho about a team they had known for only a couple years in 2008. Now if there's a multi-year slide and all these fans disappear into the woodwork, I think you've got point, but until then the fanbase is ardent until proven otherwise.

Agree with this. Dixon has had long enough to do what he can with Pitt, and he's done well. However, I think he's hit his ceiling and if he leaves to TCU, through no fault of Pitt's, they should be able to land a great replacement in short order. Dixon is great, but he isn't Williams, Krzyzewski, Pitino, or Boeheim.

TCU administrators have been gathering information on Virginia Tech's Buzz Williams

Interesting... I've also been gathering information. Been doing some research on building a fire pit in the back yard. I think it would be a great fit.

So if multiple votes per day are allowed, how hard would it be to make a bot that is constantly upvoting VT?

Went back and it let me do it about 30 times before blocking for a cooling off time. But as fast as I was going there must have been UNC folks doing it at same time b/c I would inch up but then go back down as a percentage. I don't do twitter but someone needs to get hokie fb or something to tweet this.

Interesting, I just went back to the link after a solid 20 minutes of cooling off and just voted another 25 times for Blacksburg. I wish I could vote like this in a real election and my vote mattered as it does here, seeing the real time results of my votes increasing our percentage points is gratifying.

PS. I got us to 32% and was again just told I need to "cool-off". I'll be damned if this interweb site is gonna talk to me like that!

Let me do it two or three times then said they had already counted my vote and I couldn't do it anymore. We are waaayy behind UNC.

I just tried to vote for just the 2nd time today and it said "we have already counted your vote for today"

One of the popular VT Twitter accounts needs to link this.

Well, after five minutes of doing so, a message now appears telling me that I have voted too many times and that I will be unblocked after a "cooling off" period. But it doesn't tell me how long that is. They have underestimated my affinity for voting in stupid online polls!

This goes with the point I was making because I doubt that we are alone in up-sizing our QBs. It seems like a trend that bigger, more athletic QBs are becoming the norm. We need to up-size our DEs to keep up.

Guys, after selecting Blacksburg and clicking on vote, there is a button that says return to poll just under the tweet button. It reloads the voting box and you can keep voting. I single handedly just got it to 30 percent for us in two minutes. We can do this!

Try refreshing the page. That's what finally did it for me.

Well it's not like they are in class so plenty of time to vote.

correction: we are getting hammered by chapel hill

The fact that we went out and got Mitchell, a corner specialist, and added a safeties coach, to me says how much Bud valued Gray.
I don't know if Bud made them both great coaches, or is just good at identifying who is/will be a great coach, but they were both good, and we will be fine without both.

I read that ACC run so far has already put the conference up for $30m over the next 6 years and that number will only grow as teams win and we gain more units. Last year the ACC was the first conference to eclipse the $30m mark and we have done that already this tournament. That is a lot of money each year if the conference can remain elite and rack of those numbers year after year.

Oh man.

I put in my vote for the Burg, but it may not be enough...
