Obviously not Jax st. That's just stupid.
Yeah, I wouldn't put as much stock into what has worked in the past in that regard. Greensboro is so much different than DC it could be a totally different experience. Greensboro was a relatively close destination for UNC, NCSU, Duke, Wake, VT, and Clemson fans. Meanwhile, DC is close (2.5 hours) to only loluva. DC is more of the week long vacation destination than Greensboro. I'd imagine fans will have to plan to stay the whole week instead of just traveling day by day as they could do in Greensboro.
Yeah, I was a bit young for that game so my memory was off. I remember thinking, "I can't believe this collapse is happening, I can't believe this collapse is happening, I can't believe this collapse is happening." But it wasn't a defensive collapse....I couldn't believe the Hokies were giving up all those points because the Hokies offense (Sean Glennon) never should have put UGA in those positions to score all those points.
That 2005 Miami game was a cold and ominous one. "Sigh"
Basically all the high school football talent in the state is in the Chicago area. There is an entrenched Chicago-to-Notre Dame pipeline, with all the Catholic schools there. This move might significantly disrupt that. Yeah, religion is important, but this is a chance to play your college ball for the last coach that took your home team to the Superbowl.
stubhub and also scalping. its the late game of the session so around the start of the GT/clemson game prices should be pretty low
To be fair, I think the VT offense ran 3 plays in the 3rd quarter.
I see your edit and you are correct. The turnovers+UGA's onside kick made for an exhausted defense.
It's important to remember that while SEC bias was a thing in '07, so were the computers (many of which had us at #2 WITH the loss to BC).
That defense was sick. It was the best Hokie defense I can remember watching.
EDIT: I made a comment about the defense giving up 28 points in the 2nd half of the Peach Bowl...But I think that was more about the VT offense turning it over 4 times.
Uhhh

I already have tickets but because fuck dc metro, I decided to buy a parking pass for like $20 on stub hub as well. I think it is hosted by Parking Whiz, but I wanted to see if anybody else bought one from stub hub and knows how it works. It pretty just gave me an address to go to.
stub hub has them for cheap
It's about a lot more than money to Buzz. That's why I'm not sweating any carousal rumors.

# | GIFTORY: Frame-by-Frame Highlight Reel of Virginia Tech's 77-62 win over No. 7 Miami Two GIFs I would like to see:
1.) Zach LeDay blocked shot from behind on Jekiri under the Basket. Zach was guarding him pretty good, but Jekiri got by and Zach batted his shot from behind...With a scowl.
2.) Justin "little man syndrome" Robinson, pushing Rodriquez to the ground around half court and passing the ball up the field to his teammate for a three.
edit: you know I think the 6th gif down is that play. I see Rodriquez having to get off is rear in the bottom right. Such a great play
you can still get them for mad cheap on stubhub.... I think still $6/person for cheapest ticket

# | GIFTORY: Frame-by-Frame Highlight Reel of Virginia Tech's 77-62 win over No. 7 Miami When Coach Buzz said #5 has little man syndrome I thought of that play, and I was like, You know, I can see that, he pushes back that much harder.
If Buzz doesn't care
He doesn't. If you ever hear Buzz speak in person you'll more than likely get to hear it. I recently heard him talking about how he was told by the media that we earned a 6th seed in the ACC tourney, playing the last game on Wed. All that meant to Buzz is he'd then know what time his next game would be. He said his team never preoccupied themselves with being picked near-last in the ACC during preseason, and was never concerned about where they were ranked during the season. All they were preoccupied with was making sure that from one day to the next they were better than the day before. If that meant being 14th preseason and finishing 14th, at least they could still hang their hats on knowing they got better every day. Now that they know they are 6th seeded, it is not going to make them concerned about what postseason play they might have past the ACC tourney. Their only achievement concern is the next game in front of them, and as always, to get better than they already are.
As a side note, it was funny to hear Buzz say that he's been failing #5 (Justin Robinson) lately as a coach because he's been finding himself watching as a fan, thinking "Wow that kid is fun to watch!" Buzz has always talked about how, as a coach, he can't let himself become a fan because it breeds complacency, and a coach shouldn't ever allow that.
I was so excited by the giftory that I instantly went and joined the Key Players Club. Thanks Joe and the rest of the team for all of the great work.
Please don't jinx it.
I'll say this. Buzz Williams does not strike me as the kind of man who would bail on this group of players after only 2 years at the school, right when they're starting to come together as a team.
Please no, no, please no, dammit, please no.
This is so f-king beautiful. I love everybody! Everybody is just great!
In the GIF where Robinson passes to Bibbs for the trey, I love how Zach is swarming in from the corner about ready to dunk the crap out of it if he got the rebound.
The speculators on Buzz's next coaching job are already out in full force.

Yeah, but what if there weren't?
