Thanks for the info. I went ahead and got a parking pass for $10 on Park Whiz. Never used it before but it seems legit
It is worth re-living though. I had fun watching this in the living room of a bunch of Nebraska fans:
Invent the future, or would it be re-invent the past?
I mean it's all what-ifs, really it's impossible to know.
What if we hadn't lost to BC in 2007? Maybe we beat Ohio State in the NC.
What if we hadn't had to play Bama to start 09 and didn't lay eggs against GT and UNC?
What if we had Tyrod in 2011? Do we go undefeated? (yes, because f Clemson)
What if Michael Vick had been healthy against Miami in 2000?
What if we beat Boise in 2010? Do we run the table?
What if Marcus Vick didn't play the worst game of his life against Miami in 2005? (This was my first VT game I went to)
It's just fun to imagine what if but at the end of the day it's just conjecture.
Until we invent time machines.
RGIII agrees.

Because he's Buzz like that.
Before we all get rattled, just remember that "of the year" or mvp or heisman awards rarely go to the best candidate.
Funny note: My phone auto corrects heisman to Grossman. LOL.
Robinson, pushing Rodriquez to the ground around half court and passing the ball up the field to his teammate for a three
Second. That play was absolutely savage.

# | GIFTORY: Frame-by-Frame Highlight Reel of Virginia Tech's 77-62 win over No. 7 Miami Buzz's point: it's his energy, unselfishness and willingness to do the dirty work and play his role with such passion that made him valuable as Buzz helped change the culture and his teammates see it every day and recognize how important he's been in the turnaround.
Disagree that it would be a "likely 1-and-done ncaa bid". Would likely be in the play in game, so that would be against another 12 seed. A team very similar to us, but probably not playing as well. Then we would be going up against a beatable 5 seed.
I've said before that there's nothing I love more than a player who loves Tech as much as we do. Imagine being Shane Henry. You go from being an unknown in highschool, to a relatively unheralded juco player, to an ACC role player. I'd be extremely appreciative if I was given that opportunity, and I can tell he is very appreciative. Going to miss his energy, blocking prowess, and vicious put-back dunks.
Did somebody say Marcus?

Muck Fiami
So much phrasing in this entire thread
Our D just was very tired in the last 7-8 minutes
lol
Yikes. As I said below above, this is a good move long-term - but if all this is true, that interim AD should be baggin' groceries down at the Foodway. #brookswashere
I really don't think that Buzz is bothered by the lack of ACC COY. He doesn't seem the type to need vindication of his coaching by the media. All he needs is the respect of his players and he has that.
This.
Hell, the interim AD called the extending of Cubit "not ideal". Suuuuper vote of confidence there. Cubit's ouster was literally the first thing the new AD did upon stepping foot in his new office.
Oh, and then went out and hired Lovie Smith. I'd say that's a pretty great hire. Net-net, this is a big win for the Illini
I don't know if I can say that. It has always been fun to wonder what if we had Marcus in 06, but if we couldn't win it all in 05 (arguably the best all-around team we've had) I just don't think it was going to happen in the Beamer era. We had all the tools in 05, but we (and mostly Marcus) crumbled on the big stage against Miami at home, and then again against a very beatable 7-5 FSU squad in the ACCCG (yes, he lead a spirited comeback at the end, but we should have beaten them soundly). As talented as Marcus was, I just don't think he was ever going to win it all for us.
Your username and profile pic make me feel weird feelings.
The "14 brothers" thing had me really confused at first. I thought, damn, that's a huge family, and they're all really tall guys. Then I noticed, hey, 2 of 'em are white guys. Mama Henry must have adopted at least a couple to get such a huge family. Then I figured out what was going on and felt really, really dumb.
We're not Clemson. I never want to be Clemson. Rushing the court after every win is one of the dumbest things in college sports. Although, running down a hill and touching a rock is pretty lame too.
I stormed the court when we bested #1 Duke in 2011. I ran right for the announcers table, middle-fingers blazing towards my least favorite ACC homer, Jay Bilas. Even the cop standing guard had a laugh, before forcing us away.
Waaay cooler. Can you imagine Brentsketball? There's a real Brent in the Cassell today, Miami has run into a Brent saw out there today...nah, just doesn't have that ring, does it?

I slapped up a couple of old clips including this one on the Chromecast this past Saturday morning with my wife in the room. I didn't even realize until she said something that I had the commentary memorized for all of them and evidently I was unconsciously reciting each of them.
