He will likely only be owed money through June or July 1 I believe because that's when the previous staff's letters of appointment expired. Bud was the only one on a longer contract.

I don't think there's any buyout for him. As I recall, Frank and Bud were the only coaches who had contracts lasting beyond last season. I'm assuming he's been smart enough to save up a substantial nest egg, given how well he was compensated at VT. For all his faults, I don't think Stiney was/is a dummy. Coaching is not a career where job stability is a given. Any Division I coach who doesn't save up enough for a year or two out of work (or working for substantially less money) is flirting with disaster.

Damn we are going for some tall glasses of water! 6-4 as a junior! I like the type of kids we have been recruiting lately.

I saw that number and figured a couple scenarios might be in play:

1. Is Stinespring getting some kind of buyout from VT?

2. He's made and saved enough money, lives comfortably and doesn't need a big salary for one year, and is betting on himself that he'll find a head coaching job somewhere in a year.

Haha I know - did the post come off that I thought they were? Berman and Bitter sound more like a law firm to me.

Size, speed, arm strength, nice touch on the deep ball. May have to watch a Dudley game this fall. Was he at one of the junior camps?

I don't agree with Berman and Bitter. But I don't care to attack them in any sort of way / manner. I simply don't follow / subscribe to them. Anything more than that seems excessive and petty.

There are bigger issues / problems in life people - not only that affect the general public, but we each have our own specific ones. Whit / Buzz / Justin will be just fine, they don't need us brandishing our pitch forks for them.

Thanks for the links - Great read so far, but too long to read at work. Did not realize their coordinators do not recruit, maybe because the Texas schools don't recruit against each other? strikes me as odd. It seems obvious that one of the reasons the D was good was the way he adjusted the scheme for personnel, and how much one linebacker can change a D.

Why does he deserve our respect when he gives none in return? When a guy acts like a jerk, and is called a jerk...that's not questioning his character, that's observing reality.

We shouldn't stoop to his level then; we only reflect poorly ourselves when do stoop down to someone else s level.. I'd hope that Tech fans are above the fray with respect to that. If he's as vitriolic and biased, then his own actions will be his (professional) demise. I'd rather not get into a mud-slinging war since there seems to be no point to it.

a lot of people browse on mobile devices. It's certainly possible to accidentally hit one of those buttons with your thumb as you scroll through threads.

I wouldn't worry about random down-votes. They're really meaningless in the grand scheme of things

I also think TKP brings a juicy-ness that cant withstand professional journalism, in the sense of the forums.

ie, crazy coach Torrain Gray stories, or which players are 'reportedly' in the dog house, or class act Ford/Rogers stories...
