Get a parking pass or pay for parking in someone's yard and catch a shuttle or walk. There are some residential secondary roads around the racetrack where people charge $10-25 to park and walk. It's not a bad walk really. No further than say the Prices Fork lot to Lane.

I doubt that he would have been eligible for a medical redshirt since he played half the season at the time of his injury. Also there is only a small chance that he spends 4 years here anyway, even more unlikely that he'd spend 5, so a medical redshirt is useless. His size and athleticism will play well in the NBA, and I think you'll find a lot of people who believe he will leave early for the draft.

I really dont think you guys are going to get it quite as bad as the folks in Louisiana had it today, that being said theres definitely a decent chance for some pretty severe thunderstorms. Its a really strong low/trough bringing this bad boy in, but I think I'd be more concerned about flooding and some strong straight line winds not as much tornadoes.

TL DR thunderstorms yes, rain yes, tornadoes...prolly not, but thats more of a mesoscale thing its hard to forecast exactly when and where a tornado will strike a day or so out

I have some impressive radar captures from today though. (things you say when you're a meteorologist)

As I stated above, I want the science to be right. I will forgo harvest for the health of the species, especially when I trust the science and the agencies tasked with applying it. Like you, I generally expect the experts to be top of their fields and I respect their expertise.
The Virginia State Legislature, however, should not be in control of the management of menhaden.

Just to compare.

Tech:
Lost #1 PSU (we were the closest at 6 points, next closest was #7 Ohio St at 10), Lost #17 Iowa St
Beat #2 NC State, #8 Michigan, #17 Iowa St, #21 South Dakota St, #24 Arizona St

NC State:
Lost #3 Tech
Beat #4 Iowa, #5 Okla St, #6 Mizz, #12 Nebraska, #16 Minn, #23 App St

Both schools swept the ACC: #14 UNC, #30 Duke, #27 UVA, #26 Pitt and also beat Edinboro and WVU.

Calling the friendly TKP weatherman. What kind of effect are we looking at from these storms coming tomorrow? Schools have closed here in Myrtle Beach area.

So I scanned the proposal and don't pretend to understand all of it, but as someone who used to front for very unpopular federal public hearings (not fisheries related) and make public use decisions re: natural resources...and as someone who has a wall full of spinning tackle...I'll offer some thoughts, Q's etc.

- the collective we have demonstrated more than enough capability to overharvest certain species

- the people who run the stats on everything from fisheries to waterfowl harvests, while human, are typically world class in their field

- no one, not a single soul, in the state or federal natural resource agencies gets any points, bonuses, or awards for screwing over the public...usually quite the opposite

- are you more concerned about the likely reduction in recreational catch or about whether they have have the science right?

- which would hurt more, a reduction in limits, or a crash in the fishery?

- as someone with no dog in this fight (I don't fish offshore and I don't buy cobia at the fish market to put on the grill), I can say without question that far and away the most effective way to influence decisions is to have the numbers on your side, e.g., if you can show that CPUE (or whatever they call it today) is unchanged over time at the current harvest rate, then perhaps that calls into doubt the legitimacy of breaking out the Florida component in the Atlantic (but if FWRI had anything to do with it, I'd take it to the bank)

- solutions oriented comments are orders of magnitude more likely to be implemented

- if a commenter comes across as questioning the integrity of those making the decisions, no one on the deciding end will hear the rest of their comments

Best of luck. We are all better off when people participate in the process, ask good questions, and hold people accountable. Just remember, the people catching the grief aren't making the proposal because it's fun.

Buzz had a multitude of reasons to leave Marquette that were all non personal salary based. New president that didnt support the amount of money spent on the basketball program, new temporary Athletic Director that fired one of his assistant coaches, a new new Athletic Director coming in that would probably be influenced by the new president. There were already funding issues being raised that could have prevented him from giving his assistant coaches raises and he had already lost four assistant coaches in the last four years because he didnt have the budget to match their new offers.

As for why he would leave now? If one of the top jobs in college basketball comes calling you have to at least listen and considering the positive traction he has already been able to show at a program like ours, there are going to be a ton of top schools that view him as a candidate. His contract is also very Buzz buyout friendly. I am not saying that he is going to take the jobs but to not listen might be to burn bridges he needs later on.
