I can't either as he was offered and not like he was a non star recruit. Hope as reported his deal was discussed and he was treated fair.

I am not critiquing that, just pointing out that he was able to exploit a crease in the defense that he saw several times. That dunk was the money shot!

Pretty sure I've endured the worst stretch of VT major athletics during my tenure here (2012-graduating in May), so going to these bball games and watching a true competitive product has been incredible.
With that said, the future is bright!

The Searels family just got a house down there and moved down this past weekend. They sublet the place they were in while living in Blacksburg until their lease runs out. Stacey had been down there, but his wife and youngest were still up here.

Frankly I was pretty surprised Dean accepted it, he's a low ranked guy but not so low ranked that he couldn't find a G5 school willing to give him a full ride
That was the stated reason, In reality it was because if you have a coach you aren't sure of but is a good recruiter you put him in as running back coach

# | 2017 DE Tyjuan Garbutt Commits to Tech on Blacksburg Visit You make your defense a liability against the run (and clock) when you drop into a pass heavy defense. Plus with the growing number of QBs with mobility, you don't want to have all potential pass rushers accounted for by blockers.
The best want to compete with and play with the best. Getting one or two top flight 'croots might not do much. But getting 4 or 5 (or more) definitely attracts more talent, especially when those guys are known around the circuit and actively lobby others to join them. Interviews with Clemson, Bama, FSU, etc... recruits absolutely mention this as a reason for making the decision to commit to those programs, time and again.
