So heres a dumb question to add to the discussion:
Whats the difference? Or more directly, what exactly does a non-commitable offer intail?
Is it like, "Hey were offering you, but were not really offering you, were kind of asking you out to the prom as a backup if our first choice says no" - is that kind of what it is?
Because the RPI is garbage and doesn't even begin to come close to being useful until the last week or so of the season.
A one liner about it not being a commitable offer brings nothing. He could add a few words like, "I read on blank" or "according to blank" I'm not looking for cnn links with in depth Analysis just say something to add context.
Smashing!
Just because someone posts something without linking in a verifiable source, it doesn't mean that you have to respond every time with #sauces. That's called noise around here and it doesn't add anything to the discussion at all. If we only talked about verifiable information straight from the actual person involved, we'd rarely have anything to talk about. Whether it's a commitable offer or not, it's showing that we have interest in a player nobody has heard about and that's where the discussion originated.
Dude I honestly have no idea how you came away with that impression. All I said was I agree with getting more than a 13 game sample size before making a huge investment in a QB. I was also acknowledging the fact that Buffalo as a franchise has been burned by QBs not panning out and will likely play it cautiously, especially with their current cap situation.
While we're on the topic, a statistic listing someone 7th doesn't make them the 7th best QB in the league. That stat lists Tyrod above Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, and Philip Rivers. Sorry, as much as I love Tyrod he hasn't done enough to be considered better than those guys.

# | Justin Fuente's New Staff Offers 2016 Prospects, Sets Visits with Signing Day Rapidly Approaching Gee, I hadn't thought of that. I guess it is pretty easy to forget the other 9 months of the year in the summer...
that win over UAB is turning out to be pretty nice too.

# | What returning offensive ball handlers have the most to gain and most to lose under Fuente? You gleaned that from the fact they won five games by 3 scores or more?
I think "maybe" or "perhaps" is missing from your statement.
Hands down the most exciting January for recruiting since I started giving a shit about recruiting.
2015 Virginia Tech Brand Guide Page 54
About our name
Our official name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, but using the full name is cumbersome. Thus, "Virginia Tech" is preferable in all but formal uses. Virginia Tech is used in news releases, feature articles, academic journals, and publications and on the Web.When using the full name of the university, never use an ampersand instead of "and." Never use VPI&SU, VPI and SU, VA Tech, or Virginia Tech University. "Tech" is acceptable after a first reference to "Virginia Tech," but it shouldnot be used repeatedly or solely. "VT" and "Va. Tech" are acceptable only in limited, informal situations, such as a newsheadline where space is tight. Do not use "VT" or "Va. Tech" in body copy, in titles of publications, on signs (if spacepermits), or in any "formal" publication.
Should it happen? That's debatable.
Does it happen? Unquestionably.
I think Virginia Tech is in a better position now, no doubt.
Apparently he does not have a commitable offer
Maybe we should just call ourselves THE Virginia University, since the other one doesn't hold it's reciprocated name up very well...
I think there is some fudging allowed if you want to go by ITA rankings. See UVA's lineup in the NCAA finals last year (#19 in the country playing at 4). The opposing coach can also protest if they think the lineup is stacked/unfair.
You realize what the school's official name is, right?
"Virginia Tech University "
How hard is it going to be to stay in top 25 of this contest? PAC 12 and Big 10 schools sponsor a lot more sports than VT. Just a numbers game it's going to be hard to crack it every year.
This is an important metric, we all wish to see our athletic program achieve its best across the board. We should strive to be in the top 25.
Which sports need to improve to get us there? Mens and Women's basketball both seem to be trending in the right direction. Soccer, tennis, wrestling, track/field, softball, swimming/diving seem to be improving. Need football to be the bell-cow as it has been in the past and we need baseball to stop bringing us down.
Highlights are SOPHOMORE season. No idea how much he has improved this year!
Sorta like this?

I love it that he cancelled the visit to UGA. I really find it a commitment as pretty worthless when they commit and then take a bunch of visits. If you commit, you commit.....by the definition of the word, you can't commit and still be looking around.
commitment.

2. an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action:
Strange eye color but wish granted!

Think of it like the bachelor. All of those chicks have an "offer" but they will all be "recruited" simultaneously while the guy evaluates who would be the best fit and with whom he has the most mutual interest. So, that but with football.
